Discussion: Short Suggests A 'Celebrity' Wouldn't Know A Hush Payment Was Illegal For Candidate

They rarely mention it (Tapper and Burnett), but the problem is that they keep booking him and guys like Santorum.

So they’re going with the stupidity and couldn’t hire anyone not incompetent defense.

OK.

“I think it is pretty realistic to say that somebody who is a celebrity who gets sued for these things would not know whether that’s a campaign violation or not and again I think that’s open for a lot of debate.”

That celebrity was a candidate for President of the United States. Maybe celebrities shouldn’t try to be president.

Sure - President Individual-1 was so ignorant of the law that he hid the act through multiple third parties and LLCs. Because that’s exactly how innocent people act. Christallmighty, what a shitshow.

As a side note, I’m astounded that anyone still wants to hang on to their Trump Toadie status by justifying any or all of the fuckery. I guess they don’t want a reputation or a job once this is over.

A celebrity no, but Donald yes.

That court can’t keep him out of jail.

When Short says swill like that, he’s essentially saying that celebrity should be a qualification for President of the US. What dimwit can we expect next: Kim Kardashian?

You can bet Trump knows A LOT about campaign laws because he’s made plenty of legal contributions to politicians at every level of government that have to be reported, and you know if Trump gives anyone money, he wants a lot of public recognition. As a Developer, you can bet he’s made many unofficial contributions to public officials in many countries too.

Another thing to consider, is that Trump has to know that Stormy Daniels going public was going to hurt his campaign or he would not have paid her a cent, and they went to great lengths to hide it. Look at all the things Trump would have managed to safely hide, were it not for Mueller’s Russia investigation.

Oh, there will still be plenty of jobs in the “We wuz robbed!” victimized media industrial complex when this is over. Fox isn’t going away any time soon.

They’ve been burning through so many possible types of defense that they’re very soon going to be saying he’s innocent because he can’t distinguish between right and wrong; the concept is beyond him. And frankly it’s the most plausible one. It doesn’t sound so good, to be honest, but that’s the situation.

Where can one pick up an ‘I’m a Celebrity’ voucher? Asking for a friend. (I wasn’t that interested in grabbing people by their privates so I didn’t see the value beforehand. But if I can also make illegal campaign contributions via hush money payments, it may be time to reconsider…)

Too dumb to fail. Also, too dumb to hire good lawyers.

Yeah, but don’t tell Ghouliani that. Working the PR refs is his main strategy.

So that’s Trump’s legal strategy, huh? Claim he has immunity as a contestant on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of here!

Something about ‘hush money’ that rings a chord, like its improper, illegal, wrong… I dunno’, I’m not a lawyer, I only play one on TV.

This also sounds like a great new “Celebrity Defense” reality show, where you live in a world of your Id, doing whatever you want to whomever you want, since celebrities can’t be expected to know what’s legal and not. What does this sound like… perhaps a sociopath?
