Discussion: Shock Jock Mocks Warren With War Whoop As Trump Warm-Up (VIDEO)

Sadly my native American ancestors did not have their own immigration policy. And you can see what it led to.

How could this kind of approach possibly fail to broaden Trump’s appeal to the general electorate?! Genius! - Please, proceed!

Who cares what Warren’s heritage is? She isn’t using it for identity politics. She isn’t using it to get the affirmative action that gets conservatives’ undies in a twist. She’s from Oklahoma, so the chances are higher that she might have some Native American ancestors. She doesn’t make a big deal about it.
Trump can’t help himself. He had some business conflict with casino-owning Indians, so it’s personal. All Indians are bad people. Same as his stance on Mexico. He had some deals go down in Mexico that didn’t go his way, so, build a wall.
Digby made the case for Trump’s personal grudges being a big motivator for his rants against other ethnicities and nationalities.

Howie Carr proves time and time again acting like angry, bigoted white trash is a good career move in the US.

The entire Trump campaign really is a huge magnet for the morons, fools, idiots, and most frequently, the ASSHOLES in this country.
I guess what they say about “Birds of a feather…” is true.

The saddest part is that there are people who would consider this a good move.

It’s not. All the racists are already on board for Trump.

Keeping it classy you miserable jerks…but then you don’t care that the whole ‘stupid old white man’ meme is destroying the country do you?

By the next election the GOP candidates and supporters will just be grunting.

James Fallows, who’s my biggest hero since Batman, I guess, has been listing all the bizarre things Trump does that a normal candidate wouldn’t do. In his latest and 29th installment of these, he had this stuff fourth:

  1. “Pocahontas.” He is at this again. Here is why it matters: mocking a very popular female Democratic figure, in terms a lot of people will see as racially derogatory, may have been a great base-rallying technique during the primary elections. As you supposedly “pivot” for the general election — where you need women’s votes, non-whites’ votes, youth votes, and other groups beyond the GOP’s base — this is the kind of thing you don’t do any more. But he keeps doing it.

Most sentient beings within the broadcast area he reaches are well aware of that pesky little truth. Carr is a sad little man who gives steaming piles of dogshite a bad name.

The calculation by the Trumpers is that there are not enough Native Americans to matter. Just like his idea that Mexicans all live in Deep Red Texas (or out-of-reach California) and pose no electoral threat.

Native Americans DO, of course, matter.

But in the calculus Trump SHOULD be using, they matter with regard to actual VOTERS.

  • Millions of people like my wife identify with Native Americans**

  • Still other multitudes of Asians and Pacific Islanders do as well

  • Many more millions of white Americans take deep pride in what Native American ancestry they have***

** The word that many caribenos use for “leader” is the indigenous word “cacique”

*** There was a Navy flier in the battle of Midway named Waldron…From Wikipedia:

[John Charles Waldron (August 24, 1900 – June 4, 1942) was a United States Navy aviator who led a squadron of torpedo bombers in World War II. He and most of his squadron perished in the Battle of Midway.

Waldron was born on August 24, 1900[1] at Fort Pierre, South Dakota, son of rancher Charles Westbrook Waldron and Jane Van Metre[2] grandson of lawyer and probate Judge George Prentiss Waldron,[3] and a sixth great nephew of Richard Waldron.[4] He was of colonial New Hampshire families on his father’s side,[5][6] and of Oglala Lakota on his mother’s side. In the midst of his armed forces career he married Adelaide Wentworth and had two daughters. He studied law and was admitted to the bar, but never practiced.[7] World War II Navy Commander George Philip Jr., a Navy Cross recipient and namesake of USS George Philip (FFG-12), was the son of Waldron’s sister Alice Island Waldron.]

“You know Elizabeth Warren. Right”? Carr asked the crowd before pounding his hand over his mouth to make a faux-war whoop.

Carr also used the opportunity to call himself a “rich guy.”

Fitting that an asshole is selected to introduce the asshole.
