In regard to this kind of nonsense, I find it helpful to realize that individuals like this are not really fully developed adults. They are emotionally and intellectually an unruly 13 year old at best. They think this stuff is âfunny.â But yet they still think that, at the same time, they are being the smart one.
I feel sorry for the guy. He has no idea what it is like to be genuinely intellectually serious. He is not even sophomoric; he is juvenile.
Thatâs not a demotion. In a military formatted rank structure a demotion is losing rank. I see nothing about losing rank. It seems heâs still a sergeant. All that happened here was he lost the cushy and prestigious security detail he had occasionally been on and taken off the SWAT team which isnât even a full time job here in Broward County.
All that means is that his normal, regular duties and accompanying pay has stayed the same. And though he likely wonât be back on the security detail any time soon he could quite realistically be back on SWAT next week for all we know. This was nothing more than a CYA move by the department.
They can still do considerable damage.
