“I’m voting for myself,” Adelson joked while voting at a high school caucus site, according to the Journal.

You know, I find that funny (though probably not the way he intended it to be).

Bet he voted for Netanyahu. Nothing better for Adelson than to have him run both countries.

It’s sort of like what Isaac Newton was up to when he wasted a decade on experiments and the supposed wisdom of the ancients on turning base metals into gold. Adelson’s going to keep investing in bigger and more powerful super camels, ramming them all at increasing speed the eyes of needles.

Money can buy a lot of neat stuff, but not secret ballot votes, especially in the Internet Age. Professor Trump, who otherwise almost personifies rich excess, is actually engaged in a contrary line of experiments, and they seem to be producing results. It’s still necessary to gain the status of depthless celebrity to pull if off, and being born a rich a-hole can help get you the opportunity to build that status, but it’s the celebrity and what he used to construct that matters more… This is America, dammit.
