Trump would probably see his resignation as a bonus. Just one more among many to resign plus he believes it would give him a chance to install some lackey that was not recused. McGahn would take the threat very seriously because he’s not an idiot and knows what kind of shit storm these events would unleash.

Perhaps not. The legal definitions are
Subject of an investigation = Looking for criminal acts
Target of an investigation = Enough evidence to indict and convict.
It’s very possible that they have a lot of evidence, but want to get more to convict and that Trump is the subject of an investigation, but not the target of the investigation.
Realistically, if they’re looking for interference in the political campaign by Russia with the Trump campaign, they’re looking at Trump. You can’t not.

That’s a transcription error. “Resigning” should be “re-signing,” as in signing up again for continued service as Chiselin’ Trump’s Attorney General.

For some time I have had a fantasy of Jeffie cooperating with Mueller to avoid a perjury charge from his Senate testimony. The deal meant that he wore a wire whenever discussing things with tRump. Rosenstein of coursr knows about this deal. If Rosenstein leaves, Jeffie is an untenable position. … Ah, well. A girl can dream.

No way he would feel the need to quadruple his security detail. I’m sure he wouldn’t send out a 20-person advance team if he planned to go to a Starbucks. And he would never have a 6000-foot runway built next to the DOJ HQ so that a private jet could pick him up for a trip to Tyson’s Corner.
