Discussion: Sessions Failed To Disclose Oil Holdings To Office Of Gov't Ethics

If Sessions were a Clinton:

"These questions cast a shadow that cloud his nomination.

Raising questions of believability and self-dealing.

These missteps are deeply troubling."

Here are his assets.

Seems he is a huge land owner in Alabama.

Petty, loathsome, small men…Seems Senator Feinstein prompted some rapid eye movement out of old Jeff…

Just hearing Sessions’ opening remarks and Grassley’s first “questions” (which were leading and a set-up to make Holder look bad) makes me ashamed to be an American. They both sounded corny, doddering, partisan, and unconvincing.

In orange’s Cabinet which will be full of billionaires with a total wealth about $14 billion Buddy (childhood nickname) Sessions is one of the least rich with ONLY $7.5 million. Do not multiply his salary of $174K by the number of years he’s been in the Senate. It does not compute. (Actually I shouldn’t go there at all since Feinstein and Blumenthal make the list of the richest senators.)

Hooray for Diane Feinstein - she is asking some very important and pointed questions about the Hyde amendment, gay marriage, Roe vs Wade, etc. It may not change the outcome of this hearing, but she is getting him on the record about Trump’s positions and their legality.

I think we could nickname the Trump Administration (<——ouch, that stings) “Grim Fairytales”.

Lady parts and dirty pictures…President Putin would be proud if a gay beating or two could be worked into the schedule.

Agree 1000-fold.

And now I see Howard Zinn’s “A People’s History Of The United States” is now available on-line for free. Befittingly, it’s hosted on a website called History Is A Weapon.

This isn’t a very flattering picture of Mr. Sessions’s wife and mom. Thanks folks! I’m here all week!

Now I gotta look through the tales and fit each one to a nominee. Ben Carson can’t be ‘Sleeping Beauty’…too easy.

Sounds like a feasible endeavor. Ya got at least four years.

Yup, he would be the kind of guy who gets the shakes around womensfolk who don’t know their place.

Well, Lindsay Graham is really laying on the pro-Sessions/pro-Trump charm today. I’d forgotten how much senators use these hearings to make themselves look like either celebrities or statesmen (and they’re not very good at it)

Ha! Pretty cool actually.

Very good, fun and quick book…a love letter to 80’s culture and computing/video-gaming. I think Spielberg is making it into a movie for 2018.

Oh cool…here’s another…aren’t dystopias just grand!

Do you really think they’ll have the votes to stop his nomination?

I’ve been saying this for a year: Trump is perhaps far less scary than the people around him and those he will appoint. Case in point:

The Post noted that, should be confirmed as Trump’s attorney general, Sessions would lead the Justice Department’s environment and natural resources division, which houses 400 lawyers.

That is one division. Think of all the cabinet posts, then think of all of the people that are not subject to senate confirmation that they will appoint/hire. During the Bush Administration, the government was flooded with hires from Christian Universities like Regent and Liberty (Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell schools, respectively).

I’m not saying graduates are incompetent or stupid, far from it. But they’ve been taught and trained in environments that don’t tolerate dissent and critical thinking. These universities don’t even hire science professors unless they are young earth creationists. They start classes with prayer and have mandatory church and prayer attendance.

The problem with most Americans is that they completely overestimate the power of the presidency in almost all areas it has little power, and completely underestimate the presidency in all aspects where it has great power.

These are indictable clearly. Rudy Giuliani says so, and he was a prosecutor.
