We don’t have a functioning Presidency, we have a chaotic reality show. With Trump, we knew it had to happen.

Why is the GOP blaming dems when it was trump that created this whole thing by repealing DACA thinking he could get what he wanted? And just like the TPT and NAFTA agreements, ACA, and Iran, hes not getting shit…b/c everything he touches turns to crap…fast even though the GOP holds majorities in all 3 branches…and has its own infotainment propaganda outlet…

I cant wait to vote in November…

Earlier in the same speech, in an extended riff on House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Trump scoffed, “I’m supposed to make a deal with her?”

Suit yourself — and what are the odds she isn’t Speaker of the House a year from now?

There will be a government shutdown. Republicans will hold hostages and make impossible demands. No point in Democrats deluding themselves about that. The only question is who will win, or suffer the fewest losses, in the resulting PR war. The GOP will frame it as a matter of Democrats being anti-military and anti-American and pro-dark people. This is, for their purposes, a winning narrative. Democrats? To judge from the last shutdown, they will flounder. Here’s a suggestion: frame the matter in a radically different way. For example: Democrats will not give the Trump Administration the money to launch a nuclear attack on North Korea. Make that the issue of the day. (Any other ideas welcome.)

We are approaching Peak Ungovernability. Most constitutional democracies dissolve parliament at this point and start over.

Will senators tune out this as well?

I heard Sykes comment yesterday about Trump’s lawyers offering a fear of perjury excuse for not testifying. Sykes said that there is no fear of perjury. Just tell the truth.

Nice.

They have two days to deal with funding. I am told they are planning another 2 week extension.

I don’t see a path to DACA with Trump, Miller, and Kelly in charge. We need to win both branches of Congress in November, then force the WH to deal. I wish there was another way, but the Republicans aren’t negotiating in good faith.

When a minority of the leaders in government are actually interested in seeing the government function, I do not see any other realistic result.

Republicans hold DACA hostage, Democrats respond by holding the government hostage, Republicans laugh. Republicans don’t want the government!

There will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth, and rightly so, but Pelosi and Schumer are ultimately holding a pair of twos. I simply don’t see a path to success here. Note that wanting it harder is not a path to success. That only works for Tinkerbell.

That Trump isn’t “expected” to extend DACA deadline should be plastered on every media screen (it won’t be) and the fact that he’s already made up his mind - that is, not adhering to his asinine immigration bargain - should be the end of it. Democrats should start saying - why the hell should we negotiate? He already said he’s not going to do it. Let’s see those DACA military personnel rounded up and handcuffed, Fox News.

“I’m supposed to make a deal with her?”

Why would he want to make a deal with any “her”, especially one who’s been in government for 30 years and if she were inclined she could teach him how government works. Fat pig is tiresome in how and who he hates.

As much as I hate to say it, I’d like to see Chuck and Nancy call his bluff. Won’t happen, however.

Sure go ahead send all these people WE educated and educated well back to their home countries. Let them take our investment back to where they came from.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Lord what fools these mortals be.

Right…because without ol’ Donnie we would have been able to get MANY bipartisan ‘deals’ now that the Republicans have control of all three branches. Oh just kidding…they STILL would have fked us over, they just would have had to find someone else to blame.
