Ahh, remember when the GOP was in lockstep on messaging? They threw that idea to the curb in a really big way, didn’t they?
Profiles in courage.
GOP’s new slogan : when the going gets tough, run for cover.
I hope there are long, primetime, philosophical arguments about who should use which bathroom. That would be great.
They should all be required to go.
They are responsible for this mess; they should have to stew in it.
Take a moment to realize just how stunning this is - every 4 years, political parties hold massive conventions to unify behind their candidate for president who then becomes the de facto party leader going into November.
This year, Republicans are advising other Republicans to avoid the shitshow at all costs.
There really isn’t enough popcorn in the world to properly acknowledge what has become of today’s GOP.
It’s like a bridge collapse, or a building—you don’t see the longtime rot happening over years and years, but all of a sudden down she goes. Happened to a row home in my home town years ago—the front of the building just fell off. You could stand in the street and see the rooms like in a doll house, with sofas and end tables and TVs on stands.
Ted Cruz is more than willing to expand on that topic and other “religious liberty” ideas like refusing to serve gays cake.
I hope he makes good use of his time…
The media hunt is on for a Philly-shunning Dem…
I do wonder if the Dem convention will be any better, to be honest.
Shouldn’t these GOP turkeys resign if they don’t want to support their party?
Entering the witness protection program…
No problem there, you just go to the hipster bar and find people who won’t vote for Hillz. I can’t imagine the actual D convention will devolve into an orgy of madness and violence.
ya know… there used to be an old theater in San Jose called the Old Opry House… they put on old melodramas… the popcorn was free and the beer was cheap…
the audience was actively encouraged to boo the villain and throw popcorn…
can we buy tickets to this melodrama? would Orville Reddenbacker sponsor the popcorn machine? would they sell 40s cheap?
oh yeah… Happy 420 Day… smoke’em if ya got’em
The exit polling from last night was pretty much exactly reversed on this question:
Do you think the primary has energized or divided your party?
Dems: over 2/3 energized
republicans: over 2/3 divided.
Why, Dave? The amount of discord between Clinton and Sanders supporters doesn’t seem out of the ordinary to me. In the end we come together minus a few extremists. The Clinton supporters got over it last time and supported Obama.
Rotten PR on this…they smoking pot or what?
