Discussion: Senate GOP Introducing Continuing Resolution To Keep Gov't Funded

So he calls himself ‘Leader McConnell’? How North Korean of him.

Completely agree, Had he pushed a UUGGGE infrastructure bill through Congress rather than the ACA repeal, he might be around 50% approval., Clinton and Obama and even Bush the Lesser to some extent all learned from their mid-term defeats, but Trump is incapable of learning.

So I’m assuming McConnell introduced something that might pass?

Pelosi will be Leader of the House, so far she’s not using it formally. But the minority and majority leaders of either chamber are traditionally and formally called Leader. It’s not always an aspirational North Korean plot

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced the deal on the Senate floor Wednesday to extend government funding through Feb. 8, when Democrats will be in control of the House. Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Democrats would support it.

The outcome would temporarily break an impasse that threatened to shutter large portions of the government this weekend and send hundreds of thousands of federal workers home without pay just before Christmas.

WH aide said the plan is for Trump to sign the legislation McConnell is introducing.

It sounds better in the original German.

(Sorry, couldn’t resist.)

I’m expecting that this will be a “take it or leave it” sack of rat balls with a few GOP wish-list agenda items tacked onto it and that they will try to message that the Dems are shutting down the gov’t when they refuse to roll over for it.

Assuming the Dems don’t roll over for it, that is. I heard rumblings yesterday that Chucky was going to agree to a “package of judges” to get the deal done. Sigh…

So Nancy won this round, I see. Don’t really see her losing much when she gets the gavel. Mitch had no desire for this fight.
