So many more Americans died in embassy attacks under Bush.
And lets not forget. It was the Republican led Congress that cut embassy funding in the first place.
If there is anyone responsible for anything here, it’s still the Republicans.

Republicans have spent 40 years trying, unsuccessfully, to pin something, anything, on Democrats that could mitigate Republican uber corruption. It cracks me up when they drag out Watergate, their ultimate political failure, to try and blame Democrats for doing something “as bad”.

For a lot of supposed grown ups Watergate is ancient news. But I was in graduate school when all that went down and I remember the Watergate Committee and the Nixon tapes and his resignation. The Nixon admin was into illegalities from day one right thru to the last day. Compare that to a Sec. of State keeping a private server? or maybe not having an instant reaction force of several hundred Marines in combat gear on the ground at the Benghazi Consulate (which is what the repubs want…AFTER the fact)? Hindsight is 20/20.
Watergate was a systemic assault on our form of government, our republic. Benghazi was at the worst a military mistake and a poor decision to keep a private server at home. Hardly at all similar in scale or seriousness to a foundational assault on our country.
If the Dems ever take over the House again, they should investigate the Benghazi Committee.
Rarely does one actually feel spittle and tears of impotent rage flying off a flack’s written press release.
