Discussion for article #239028
Who are the Dems that voted with the GOP/Teatrolls? Fuck them and the cowardice they rode in on.
GOP Sen. Joni Ernst: “The American taxpayer should not be asked to fund an organization…that has shown a sheer disdain for human dignity and complete disregard for women….”
But enough about the tax-exempt status of churches.
The fact that Hillary Clinton and now the likes of Al Franken went all concern troll about the “tone” of the videos, involving someone who thought she was talking to procurers of fetal tissue – you know an insider in the biz – not some patient or the general public is pretty annoying. I get they have to CYA but give me a break.
The gentle-lady of Alaska was one of the few disappointing “yea” votes. Most of these people you realize are trolls. You figure someone like her (Collins voted against it) might show some backbone.
EDIT: Correction of Collins – http://www.elle.com/culture/career-politics/news/a29632/republican-senator-planned-parenthood/
Neener, neener, neener!
I read earlier today that Joe Manchin had indicated he’d vote to defund PP.
Shut it down, you fascist theocrats. See how that plays for ya.
Manchin and Donnelly. Kirk voted with the Dems.
TPM:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Democrats should not protect Planned Parenthood’s federal funds “just to protect some political group” …
Right, Mitch. Because women are just some political group that form a small tiny minority of the voting population.
Seriously, you guys are the Democrats best recruiting tool.
How’s that GOP Outreach Program coming along?
A dozen or so hearings on Benghazi and Republicans are still not convinced that they’ve gotten to the bottom of it.
But a heavily-edited video on Planned Parenthood? We’ve got our story! Defund!
BENGHAAAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZZIII!1!123wa2@w11W3SW!2e!1!2wQq111111!111!!!
EvEryBOdy DRiNk, it’s been a long time!!! !!! !!!
Well, Senate Democrats save Sens. Joe Donnelly (IN) and Joe Manchin (WV), voted for the legislation, while two Republicans, Sen. Mark Kirk (IL) and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (KY), voted against it.
McConnell voting against it was, I believe, procedural so he can bring the bill to the floor again at a later date.
She’s facing another right wing challenge in her run for re-election next year. Apparently she thinks that pandering to the right wing whackos will garner her more votes than the women of Alaska will. She has lost the female vote with this vote no matter how much she twists and turns and tortures the truth about her inexcusable vote. She is a master obfuscater when it comes to justifying the unjustifiable votes required of her to remain in good standing with McConnell.
Well, considering that Congressional Republicans have made over 50 (and counting) attempts to defund/repeal the ACA, I can only assume that this is just the first of many battles that will be waged in their “war on women”.
Play Fair. Here’s another: " Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders told reporters Friday that the “tone” of a video of a Planned Parenthood executive talking matter-of-factly about the organization’s participation in tissue-donation programs was “terribly wrong.”
That said all the the pro-choice Democrats will fight hard for Planned Parenthood.
This is so very odd. Families have been donating the organs of deceased children for decades to save or improve the lives of others or to aid in the investigation of dread diseases. And we are supposed to panic because some women in five states decide to donate tissue from fetuses?
Sort of boggles the mind, doesn’t it?
Like a junkyard dog on a bone, the Republicans take a scrap and make a full meal out of it.
This is one of those, no there there, things that gets the Repubs all goosey. It shows that they have nothing and are incapable of creating anything.
Acorn was their crowning achievement, they struck out every time since including all of the boneheaded shutdowns. Shutdown doesn’t even sound scary anymore. It’s a proven loser that again, proves that the GOP doesn’t have jack shit.
Planned Parenthood isn’t going anywhere and the Repub Party is still attacking women. What idiots!
I didn’t see that (Irin Carmon tweeted about HC) & that’s annoying too.
They do, but fighting hard should include not helping the other side even in small ways including helping smear them as heartless or something for not being concern trolls when talking to who they think are insiders in the tissue business. That is part of the other side’s tactics.
