I hate to say this, but I’m considering taking my political bumper stickers OFF of my car. I’ve had more than one douchebag yell at me from their car/truck, and I think this stuff is only going to get worse. And I live in an overwhelmingly Democratic area. All it takes is one angry, violent asshole.
He looks so young there- early 1980s?
Please don’t do that again. I have this image in my head of the gun shooting you in its fall. Keep your family inside at your neighbor’s mailbox time.
Not sure, just liked this version. Late 70’s - early 80’s is probably right.
Or, apparently to wish him a speedy recovery, or anything past “I did not personally give the order for this attack or knowingly pay for it out of campaign funds.”
The teaser for the Republican Convention…
The conservative Aryan Nation storm troopers from Trump rallies are obviously spilling out onto the streets. They are going to be “roughing up” all sorts of people now that The Fuhrer is firmly in control of the GOP. Sarah Palin isn’t issuing idle threats.
When the Speaker of the United States has to be worry about his welfare, what does that say about the safety of any of the rest of us with Trump in charge of the presidency?
I believe the media is busy trying to find a “both sides are to blame” angle to this.
I suppose at some point this victim, the State Senate candidate, said he would beat his opponent (in context, meaning at the ballot box).
So I expect this will be used as an excuse to sweep this under the rug. …
besides isn’t the media also busy hyping the presidential general election matchup they orchestrated?
The media won’t be so nonchalant when it’s one of their own in an intensive care unit. Trump has been telling his rallies for over six months now that the media doesn’t deserve any respect. “Horrible people” is what I believe he calls them.
No. Tourism accounts for more employment and economic impact than coal. And tourism is nowhere near the largest economic sector. So, no.
I totally agree. To me, this attack sounds more personal than political. Brass knuckles over a political dispute? Trying to run him over with a car??? Certainly not impossible in the era of Trump, but something sounds off here.
I see your Johnny Cash, and raise you by John Prime…
Coal mafia?
Would you excuse this sort of violence in your community? There is no excuse for barbaric acts in coal country or Ferguson, MO.
Tennessee Ernie Ford did the definitive version of Sixteen Tons.
“Attempt to commit a felony” in WV has an upper limit on sentencing comparable to the average sentence for “attempted murder” in other states in addition to the other charges. He functionally has been given that charge.
It’s going to be the Roman Circus complete with lions, tigers and a brutalized Ryan left lying bloodied on the floor of he convention with The Fuhrer asking his delegates for a thumbs up or down.
I blame this complete breakdown in common decency across the nation entirely on Nixon, Reagan, and Limbaugh. Republicans are reaping what they sowed with their hit lists, dirty tricks and demagoguery of those they consider less than human.
Now it will be their own who need to take shelter inside the Democratic Party…not that a lot of the country club Republicans haven’t already sought sanctuary in the past few presidential election cycles in our fold.
The handwriting has been on the wall for sometime. The GOP has become a party of bigots, billionaires and bullies.
Oh yes, that’s a good one and about my state of KY. Paradise was in the Western part of the state where strip mining is more common. In the Eastern part of the state the underground mines were most common but now it’s mountain top removal which is devastating all the way around.
Are you serious? Of course not. Just explaining the conditions of coal country as a national tragedy due to coal company practices.
I mean really!
Do you even live or have ever been anywhere near these communities?
I am blessed to live in Louisville, KY the biggest city, where we do not have coal production but this is my home state and I have traveled all over it and have been to coal country many times for business (non coal) and I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Since I live in a coal state that neighbors a coal state and I care about this stuff, I think I am able to explain and with what was meant to have compassion, the plight of Appalachia and other coal regions.
Yeah, in the good old days we could carry a guy like you out on a stretcher. This PC mentality has gone too far…
