Discussion: Sen. Tom Cotton: At Least Indiana Doesn't 'Hang You For The Crime Of Being Gay'

If the problem with Iran is that they oppose our freedoms, shouldn’t it be important here in the U.S. to maintain those freedoms, not compare them favorably to Iran’s?

This idiot went to Harvard. You would expect the average junior college to produce better results.

No gay American should ever thank Sen Cotton for his military service. He clearly was only fighting for some Americans, and not for ALL Americans. He is an unadulterated a**hole.

So Arkansas is paradise, Tom?
Was that a slip’o the tongue… “for the crime of being gay?”
Tom?

That’s just sad. His parents ought to call Harvard and demand their tuition money back.

Wow. Just when you think they can’t possibly be any dumber, they pull an upset & prove you wrong. Truly many of these people condone stupidity, we should rename their “big tent party,” the party of the stupid.

Cotton is right. Arkansas had a history of doing that to blacks and did so to over two hundred of them. Progress.

Not just a Freudian slip, but a Freudian slip with matching Freudian bustier and Freudian garter belt.

One can only characterize Cotton’s remarks as insolent, condescending, and unChristian. Should we conclude that any discrimination short of hanging is acceptable? This is pandering to a self-righteous and narrow base.

best of the day!

Did he somehow forget about that whole lynching thing?

Iran is fighting Tom Cotton’s war in the Middle East and he wants to attack them. Tom Cotton’s only friends are neo-cons and they are not good friends to have.

Iran is not exactly the pillar of propriety but Tom Cotton is attempting to come out worse looking than they are.
In his own mixed up way, Tom Cotton is benefitting Iran and hurting the neo-cons, what a guy.

He’s dropping our standards quickly. Just a few months ago, America was so exceptional that we earned the right to pretend we are, and always had been, perfect. Now, “better than Iran” is good enough for America.

Because the standard that Jesus and all the prophets held to was, don’t be as bad as THEM.

Reminds me of the unofficial state motto of Alabama: “Thank God for Mississippi!”

Tom Cotton seems to be suffering from a case of IDS (Iran Derangement Syndrome).

Well if you don’t hang, it isn’t because of men like Tom Cotton. A member of his crowd is trying to make being gay a capital crime in California.

True, and in the US, Christians aren’t hunted down and shot like animals. Somehow that hasn’t stopped some of them from whining about being persecuted.
