Oh, I donāt think youāre giving this statement its due: it is, after all, coming from the GOPās Chamber Tim. Yes, itās so heavily conditioned and qualified you can hear the invocation of āSorry for saying thisā and āPardon me for commenting at allā and āExcuse me if Iām overstepping my boundsā with such a level of frequency as is rarely witnessed outside of Canada, but itās still amazing that he had the timerity to say anything even remotely resembling the possibility of a mild criticism.

The cop will walk.
Rather than calling the video āAvoidableā he should have called the video āhorrificā or ādeeply troubling.ā That certainly would have been more appropriate.

I could never be a cop. First, Iād prolly shoot pedophiles on sight. Second, I wouldnāt pull over speeders unless they were doing like 30 over. Third, if some dude I pulled over for a busted tail light ran from me, Iād prolly admire his determination and initiative and let him roam for a while.

Ferguson didnāt have video of the capping.
There isnāt anything about the tape that is inadmissible. In the hands of a competent prosecutor it gets in and the cop goes down. The officer will cop a plea.
I am just as interested in his partner who had to know what he had just done and that he was covering things up. If she lied, she might need to be charged with murder as well. At least as an accessory.

It was wise of the witness to hand his video over to the murdered victims family and of the family to turn it over to the news media - it would have never seen the light of day otherwise.
If this hadnāt been filmed and handled the above way it was it would have just been another ājustified killingā by a policeman.
