“Their philosophy is money and power." Sounds very much like the GOP, McConnell and Trump.
“Their philosophy is money and power."
Did he really say that with a straight face? AP, can you please differentiate between the statements that the senator made about Russian and the actions of the republican congress and the president?
Did his trousers burst into flames?
as I was writing! we should both get back to work.
Uh oh. Watch out, Kennedy. Don’t love and trust Vlad? You’re going to be a disgrace to the nation very soon.
Kennedy’s takeaway from the meeting was that “what Russia wants is what Mr. Putin wants. And what Mr. Putin wants is status.”
Sen Kennedy, does that sound like any Republican POTUS you know?
WASHINGTON (AP) — A U.S. senator who just returned from a congressional
trip to Russia warned against trusting President Vladimir Putin, saying
that dealing with the Russian government is like “dealing with the
mafia.”
…
Senator Kennedy, take a look at who heads the Executive Branch and tell me which head of state is the Mafia? My take is both are. I don’t trust either one. One murders opponents, the other jails babies and loses records so they can never find their parents, on purpose. One kills, one deliberately inflicts cruelty and uses babies as political hostages.
Politics in both countries is a blood sport with citizens and non-citizens seen as subhuman disposable pawns in their game.
It’s not status that Putin wants but rather leverage on trump which he has in spades (PP tape, handed trump the election). trump owes major currency (and I do not mean money) to Putin. That is why we see trump’s attacks on the EU, Mexico, Canada and NATO.
Watch for sanctions to be lifted toot sweet.
“Release the pigeons. Bring on the dancing bear. Let the money flow commence!”
Most folks who follow the news are subject to shaken baby brain damage due to constant head self-shaking.
To recap (just the recent stuff):
Don da Con has badmouthed every other person on the planet, but has never badmouthed Putin.
DdC has suggested no more Russian sanctions and G7 membership restored.
DdC was late with UK Novichok outrage, and was outraged his aides booted 60 ruskies.
Per Putin’s bidding, Trump has effectively thrown a wrench in NATO. Some NATO nations (i.e., Baltic PELL) question US commitment.
Numerous Republican Senators tweet Happy 4th of July from Russia.
Per Putin’s bidding, Trump praised Brexit. UK govt now almost in collapse due to Brexit (Putin pumps fist).
Trump now goes to Brussels to badmouth NATO again, then to UK to badmouth Limeys, then almost all the way to Russia (instead of an mid-point for both parties, just like for N Korea) to kiss ass. Privately, of course.
Sorry for the repost:
So let’s see–the biggest contributor to GOP, aside from Koch/Adelson, was the NRA. One of the main funnelers of cash to the NRA was the Russians. The image of this jackass bragging about wagging his finger in the Russian’s face and saying ahem better not do anything like that again ahem would be hilarious if it didn’t so insult our intelligence. I’m assuming this is well rehearsed BS- a case of cognitive dissonance this bad would be fatal.
Like the Mafia? Quite accurate, yes quite: Pity that, among their many other deficits, Republicans appear to completely lack any sense of irony.
Awshucks, ma’am- we’s just havin’ some fun. Didn’t mean any harm. Ol’ Vlad’s a good ole boy, no doubt about it.
now, now, darr T, you’re forgetting slow death by untreated health problems due to inability to pay for medical care, give the republicans some credit
Sen. Kennedy: By “don’t trust the Mafia,” are you referring to Putin, or Trump?
Apparently Senator Kennedy missed the memo from Senator Ron Johnson. Senator Johnson may want to lift sanctions.
This is why they call Sen. Kennedy the “brain trust” of the party.
“There is no political philosophy in Russia. It’s sort of like saying, what’s the political philosophy of the mafia,” Kennedy told reporters Monday on Capitol Hill.
“Their philosophy is money and power. That’s the philosophy of Putin. He rules with an iron hand. He’s a dictator,” Kennedy said. He noted there’s “no free press” in Russia and said there’s a vast gap in wealth between the elites and ordinary Russians. He said the Russian people “deserve better.”
