He’s already pledged that money elsewhere. It would be spectacularly crappy to pledge the money to a school, and then say “nevermind”.
Sen Harken has done a number of fundraisers and campaign events for Braley. He wants to make sure his seat stays Democratic more than anyone else.

I actually have to agree- I didn’t understand what the hubub was about- AND I believe that Harkin shouldn’t be the chair of the Judiciary Committee.
He should head up something he’s qualified to head up.
Let’s just hope that doesn’t become an issue.

Just how is the helmet-haired harpy winning? All I can think is that Braley is running an incompetent campaign. Maybe running away from Obama isn’t the best strategy for Dems. He did let Michelle come to campaign for him, but unfortunately she kept calling him Bruce Bailey instead of Bruce Braley. Oh, well. I welcome our new Republican overlords.
