Plus we have the Cruz birther nonsense on here. More sophomoric nonsense. Meanwhile even FOX has a much better Cruz story. Cruz failed to disclose almost a million in loans from Goldman Sachs on Federal Fundraising forms. If I recall, Cruzâs wife was (or is) with GS, in fact he got his health insurance from her.

There is enough out there to warrant investigation.
Eleanor Elisabeth Wilson as she was then married a foreign man here on a green card, moved to Canada to start a family and a business with him, had a child there and appears on the voting roles for Calgary. None of this is conclusive but it certainly is suggestive enough to warrant investigation.
When Cruzâs Senate office responded to Joshâs inquiry they were either badly informed as to the Canadian laws involved or lying. They claimed that the list was not of voters which is not the case â it appears to be collected by officials akin to our census workers charged with finding qualified voters and then reviewed by a higher level official. They claimed that she could not have taken out Canadian citizenship at the time of Tedâs birth because she had not been there long enough. But the state of the law was that she could take it out in one year if she was married to a Canadian. And she appears to have been there for at least a year before his birth. So it becomes critical to know when Cruzâs Father became a Canadian citizen. This is not known.
Even if she did become a Canadian citizen she would not lose her American citizenship unless there was evidence that she intended to renounce her American citizenship. However, taking Canadian citizenship at that time required you to take an oath renounce allegiance to any other country where you might have citizenship. And there is a court case where a woman lost her US citizenship because she swore that oath and was not believed as to the excuses she gave for doing so and had married a Canadian and lived there for 15 years. Eleanor lived there for at least 5 years and was married to a Canadian. Further, there is something that I had wondered about prior to this birther controversy. When Ted denied that he was a Canadian citizen he said that his Mother had said that she would have had to take an affirmative action for him to have Canadian citizenship which made no sense to me since he had a right to Canadian citizenship by birth. So shouldnât it have been the case that he would have had to take an affirmative action. However, had she herself become a Canadian citizen and taken the affirmative step of telling the US that she renounced her US citizenship, then he would have had only the Canadian citizenship.
At one point I thought that choosing to call herself an American to pass citizenship onto Ted when he was born would indicate an intent to retain American citizenship but the short form birth certificate posted on Breitbart does not record the citizenship of the parents â it merely has them state their place of birth.
It may well be that as you state she never had any interest whatsoever in Canadian citizenship but given all the above I believe it should be looked into.,

Her US citizenship was never ârenouncedâ. There is no documentation that says it was. His mother was a citizen when he was born. Done deal. Even if she had become a Canadian citizen, she then would be a dual citizen, like thousands of people. They are still US citizens.
You need to read the whole case. It says her initial reason for taking the oath (US hardship and that she was âforcedâ into it) was a crock of BS. She also let her passport expire, then 15 years later she decided she wanted to come back to the US as a citizen. It was determined due to her extended absence and lying that she lost her citizenship. Additionally, the Canadian Consulate General in Toronto confirmed that she was administered the oath on March 1, 1973. No such confirmation exists for Cruzâs mother. Itâs all speculation. And it was long ago. In that case the decision was made at the time. It was current. The Cruz thing was decades ago.
EDIT: I would also add that âhypotheticallyâ, if they were to now renounce her citizenship now, itâs not âretroactiveâ. She was still a citizen at that time. So even in that absurd hypothetical situation, heâs still eligible.
Yes, Ted is a dick for saying that, he knew he had citizenship just due to being born there, but he was politically embarrassed to admit it. Not relevant to his mother being a US citizen at the time.
The loan thing is current, and there is actual documentation that he did not fill out the forms properly. So it has nothing whatsoever to do with believing or disbelieving him. Itâs already established fact. And he only changed the filing after the NY Times ran a story on it. Thatâs why itâs worth a look.
This analysis is only possible because Cruzâ father is a white Cuban. Had he been a black African, Cruz would be disqualified like Obama. Ask Orly Taiz or Donald Trump.

Well, is that documented ? Or is your position that Cruzâs mother was a US citizen, if nothing else is documented? Why not require a positive proof she was a citizen, e.g. a passport or something ?
