Why are firing someone in the Situation Room unless you clearly don’t want a record of what was said?
It’s because chaos reigns in the White House.
I’m floored at the level of incompetence.
Someone needs to ask her if she’s had sex with the Orange One.
Kelly thinks she has broken laws but he offers to take care of it if she keeps quiet. What a bunch of crap, he probably broke the law by making that offer.
Let’s leave Omarosa out of it except as a testimony to the character and competence of the kind of people Trump surrounds himself with, the kind who will tolerate his own glaring deficiencies. This administration, as we all expected, has a shocking lack of regard for our national security and shows that in everything it does. I suppose many of us hoped there’d be a culture in Washington that would moderate the incompetence and betrayal, but that was too much to hope for. Not with this crew. Kelly is the one who ought to be court-martialed, for being of the normal Washington world, for knowing better, and not resigning and denouncing what was going on.
Trump’s known her for 15 years and he knew what she was about.
Until she turned on him he loved her.
OMG, someone from the Dump admin broke protocol?!? Say it isn’t so!
Why are we obsessing with this woman who we have no verifiable reason to believe has turned on her old boss? Trump has been searching for a pretext to whack Kelly. He suddenly and conveniently has one now.
The response from the White House was stinging. “The very idea a staff member would sneak a recording device into the White House Situation Room, shows a blatant disregard for our national security – and then to brag about it on national television further proves the lack of character and integrity of this disgruntled former White House employee,” press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement.
Oh, just STFU. It’s not like concern for National Security is a core value of this Administration:
But her e-mails! There has never been an administration as generally lackadaisical with national security as this one. You hire a reality show contestant as a major administrative officer and then you trust them to obey a notional honor code about carrying around electronic devices, when the president, the president’s son in law, and every other Tom, Dick, and Harry in the White House is winging it 24/7. I never cease to be amazed how low Ryan and McConnell will go to pursue temporary tax cuts and a more lasting but still fairly confined advantage on the Supreme Court. They are the real Benedict Arnolds and Quislings of our time, treasonous enablers of our destruction.
Amateurs. They’re friggin’ amateurs.
And their boss has his finger on the nuclear button.
“I was complicit with this White House deceiving this nation,” she said. “I had a blind spot where it came to Donald Trump.”
Say it ain’t so. Who woulda thunk there would be any deception. Unbelievable!!!
All I have to say about and to the welter in the West Wing is a line from Peter Sellers, which You will recognize at once if you’re somewhere under 80:
“Gentleman! You can’t fight in here, This is the War Room!”
Romny-McDaniel:
Who in their right mind thinks it’s appropriate to secretly record the White House chief of staff in the Situation Room?
Just another thing to add to this list
- At a minimum looking the other way on Russian election interference.
- Losing the popular vote BIGLY but governing (probably not the right word here) like you have a majority.
- Hiring the likes of Flynn, Price, Zinke, Perry, De Vos, Pruitt
And don’t forget WHO appointed her in the first place. If anyone is making a joke out of this it’s Trump
“Who in their right mind thinks it’s appropriate to secretly record the White House chief of staff in the Situation Room?”
People that our Very Stable Genius would hire.
You beat me to it.
That spineless lying sack of shit John Kelly should be court martialed and his pension revoked. He is a disgrace and trying to hide something.
Well, to bring up a term that was used endlessly during the first year of Trump’s term until we were all sick of it … like many things in this administration, taking and using a recording device in the Situation Room is unprecedented.
