Discussion: Secret Service Investigating Kentucky Woman's Anti-Trump Tweet

The Secret Service is going to spend all their time investigating; how will they find time to protect his family? Guess thatā€™s why he wants private security.

Iā€™m sure itā€™ll be like vacation compared to what they had to do to keep the Obamas safe. Iā€™m sure they heaved a huge sigh of relief at the end of his second term. I know, in that sense, I did.

Ferretti suggested Internet users ā€œthink twiceā€ before sending social media posts.

Thatā€™s just funny by itself.

While I donā€™t condone it, itā€™s not like this lady is a Presidential contender suggesting it.

So, Heil Twitlerā€™s SS says people should think twice before posting to social media. Irony is so dead, itā€™s starting to smell bad.

Note to Secret Service Agent; Most social posts I have read the users havenā€™t thought once in their lives let alone twice

Far more people likely wanted Obama dead, and itā€™s equally likely that those people are supporters of the current President.

We know which side has all the gunsā€¦

One particular user, I follow, lives up to that descriptionā€¦

Yes!

The tweet hardly constitutes a threat. The woman never stated an intention to personally cause harm to Trump. Seems a tad over-protective by the Secret Service.

Her defense attorney in Court: This is LIKE a presidential candidate wishing that Russia would hack and find his opponentā€™s emails while she was Secretary of State. Itā€™s not treason, its just wishful thinking out loud. This is like the president encouraging Second Amendment Remedies, its just sarcasm.

Never write or tweet stupid stuff.

This kind of statement would automatically trigger (pun) an investigation.

Under ANY president.

Trump can suggest a second amendment solution for Hillary, a real veiled threat considering that his unhinged followers threaten the life of anyone who publicly criticizes Trump. If she is charged, she should ask why is it permissible for Trump to basically suggest the same fate for a presidential candidate if she wins.

Perhaps distasteful, but not a threat.

His private security detailā€¦yeah, whatā€™s up with that? I seriously would like to know more about how that works for the sake of government transparency. The SS are set up to protect the office of the President, not just the President himself and some of those in his administration. We have a right to know what thatā€™s about and how thatā€™s getting paid for.

I agree. But this is their job to be overprotective. People are often very disturbed. My problem is with the reporting. Why are we making a big deal out of this? We didnā€™t hear about every racist that made veiled threats about Pres. Obama when they were investigated.

Unless there is some change from past procedure or something new, this is just going to rile up his base and give power to his victimhood.

Post crap like this tweet, you are gonna have a knock at the door. Thatā€™s what the Secret Service does. Donā€™t tiptoe around threats to POTUS. Just stupid. This woman stepped over the line.

Sheā€™ll be fine. The SS investigated that dude who threatened Obama in almost exactly the same way (ā€œwill no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?ā€) and there were no charges brought.

Certainly they wouldnā€™t use a totally different metric when investigating threats against a white man, right?

She said someone ā€˜couldā€™ assassinate Trump. Well of course someone could. That is always true of any political figure, no matter how good the protection is. And in Trumpā€™s case there are a good many people who would not shed a tear, who would likely be pleased to see him gone - including a good many in the Republican leadership and the Republican party. The sheer weight of the vitriol pouring out against the Orange Idiot should of itself be enough to do him in, given his narcissistic insanity. So is the Secret Service going to go after everyone who says bad things about the Clown in Chief? Or are they going to become the new Gestapo, United States Branch, spreading enough terror to shut people up from speaking truth to insanity? Iā€™m pretty sure Der Trumpfer would be happy to see the Secret Service, and the other agencies, take that path, and Iā€™m also pretty sure thatā€™s the path he is going to push them onto. I do wonder what will be the Reichstag fire for these people?
