Several people it seems have been rather loudly silent and notably absent. Comey being one of course.
Fear breeds hate.
Cyril,cConnelly said some, paraphrasing, Hate is fear crystallized, we hate what is a threat to our person, liberty, income, vanity, dreams, etc.
If I may, I will make a slight change that will reflect how I see it: we hate what we imagine is a threat to us.
Where are all the effing trolls lamenting that itâs Hillaryâs fault?
You sound like youâre ready to hunt some orc! hahahahahaha
They slithered back under their rocks.
Oh yeah. My sister in NYS seems to think, based on teevee reports that Mitt is going to be SoS.
His wife wonât have to deal with âyou people.â Sheâll have other issues.
They certainly did. castor oil troy was especially ignorant.
âI am tired of being shamed because Iâm a white male. We didnât riot when Obama was elected.â
"We photoshopped pictures of the President with a bone through his nose.
Wrote Facebook posts calling the First Lady an âape in heelsâ.
Spray-painted a few swastikas on Black churches.
But we never rioted!"
You automatically think Iâm a racist. How about you go the (expletive) back to India or wherever you came from?â
I see what you did there.
And yelled loudly that we wanted to see his birth certificate because we knew he couldnât have been born here - he had to have been born in Kenya.
Then we dressed up like people way too fat and too old to be in cos play and ran around yelling about a Tea Party and the government keeping their hands off our medicare.
Well, my wife and I have plenty of swords as well as a very large bearded axe that weâve been looking at a lot over the last week.
I told my friend that story last night, and before I finished, she knew what was coming, and she gasped when I did.
She said, " I didnât think youâd make me gasp."
I just canât understand the profound ignorance, personality disorder, sense of entitlement, insecurity that allows one to think she even compares to someone like Michelle Obama and can say that.
I donât ever want to be like any of these people. I would curl up into a ball and die.
I hope someone tells him that he is not being shamed for being a white male, he is being shamed for being an asshole: a bigoted, misogynistic asshole.
ah, back to the good old salad days. ward and june are coming over for cocktails. hear beaver is out on a pussy grope. and that eddie haskel, what a card!
Of course.
As an aside, I find this conversation of feeling of being left behind fascinating.
As I recall from a couple of weeks ago talking heads were talking about truck drivers who make a good living driving trucks but that job will go away because of automation. I heard this mentioned several times on various shows I guess related to the loss of labor industries.
About ten years ago in my previous career, I did economic policy research at the National Academy of Sciences. On of my first reports was on the 80s and how Japan was going to own all of America by 2000, and if you recall from many movies at the time that angst was played out (Mr. Mom, ex.). Industries shifted around to lower skilled work forces in China etc, but the US retained the knowledge-based jobs and service jobs. Service jobs were then outsourced where they could (knowledge based- IT Support from India, etc)⌠im the program assistant on the report.
And of course left behind were those unable or unwilling to adapt. And they Always will be.
Coals not coming back until itâs cheaper than natural gas. Steels not coming back until it is cheaper than importing from China or wherever it goes when itâs cheaper to make it there rather than China. automobile manufacturing came back because itâs cheaper to assemble in the USA rather than ship fro Japan or China, but parts are probably manufactured in Mexico and shipped across the border by Mexican with calves like melons. V-6 very heavy engine. I digress, blather on, etc because bourbon.
Yes. Itâs the way it is when things change like this. Thatâs why they have gone so Jesus crazy and thatâs one thing that keeps them voting against their interests. In fact, I underestimated the power of the religious right and they turned out and voted for the most immoral human who has ever run. But thatâs our problem in rural areas - the people who are left there are there for a reason. Sometimes people move to those places and itâs usually about the same reason - they arenât in tune with modern life, for whatever reason. I do not know why there is this insistence that we failed them. We did not - time and progress âfailedâ them.
gee, doesnât he sound nice. heâs just tired of all that white shaming going around.
