This is the post I believe should be condensed into a form which could, perhaps, give the types of people who regularly guffaw at Jon Stewart a reason to convert those laughs into action…
Two things:
-
It’s not the stupidity of the people who like Walker that is relevant. It’s the stupidity combined with the determination to VOTE. If Walker’s so-called opposition cannot summon enough _____________________ (whatever that is) to go to the polls, then it’s irrelevant how many cute things the opposition (Stewart, Maher, lesser jokesters, people who rally, post online, etc.) says…Since our kinds of people have not fathomed (as much as the double-digit I.Q. folks who vote for Walker) that voting counts as much (and maybe more) than sentiment and wit.
-
Walker is not so much of a dream candidate for Republicans as a nightmare candidate for Wisconsin, the nation and, by extension, Planet Earth. Give him a Republican Congress, moreover, and Its Over.
There are not enough Progressive older people (like TPM posters) to stop Scott Walker. In order to stop Scott Walker, Americans are going to have to depend on people vastly under-utilized and uninspired…people the Democratic establishment have a great deal of difficulty in animating. The fact that the MSM is pulling for the HorseRace means that Scott Walker’s shortcomings will be dramatically downplayed.
