Discussion: Schumer: Price Leading HHS Like Asking 'Fox To Guard The Hen House'

Didn’t matter to Kentucky voters since more of them voted for Trump and they put their House of Representatives under Republican Control for the first time in ages. Kynect was killed and the Republicans got more votes from Kentuckians because they approved getting rid of it.

Hard to block him when McConnell kills the filibuster…

Well, people constantly vote against their interests. It doesn’t mean they learned their lesson, it just means this will be Kentucky on a larger scale…where a large number of the population voted against their own interests without really realizing the consequences.

I personally am not going to let the pessimism that seems to pervades threads lately become normal. Maybe there are some Rs who feel strongly about keeping health care. They have constituents to answer to and future elections to win.

This also shifts the burden of elder care to siblings with priviate healthcare through their employers…

Medicare is extremely popular. Voting to voucherize it is not. McConnell understands this, and will desperately seeking D votes for “bipartisan” cover.

Yeah, kind of like counting on the senior senator form New York to lead the charge for Wall Street and banking reform. No wonder we lost.

People are losing their heads over an announcement of a nominee. It’s far from certain an extremist could be confirmed, so it’s time to look at the bigger picture.

@harry_truman Yeah, the people who voted for the orange really gave two shits about Wall St. and banking reform, regardless of what Schumer may or may not have done. The cynicism is heavy today.

Price leading HHS is like Schumer leading liberals. But hey, look how brave he is, saying these words and all!

I think Dr Price took The Hypocrites Oath.

Excellent political positioning, Sen. Schumer. The Democrats need to repeatedly attack the Donald and his crew as seeking to kill Medicare and take away health insurance. This will shape the narrative for 2018 and beyond.

And this time, they don’t even have to hide it. The ratfuckers are in charge and have free rein to trash it all.

IIRC, even that gives the media too much credit. The ACA grandfathered in policies, so any policies that were cancelled weren’t due to the ACA. They were cancelled by the insurance companies because the competition from good plans made the lousy plans less profitable or because a change in the plan essentially constituted a new plan which would then be subject to ACA regulations. Obama’s statement was 100% true since he was speaking for the government and not the insurance companies.

Fox? How quaint. These cabinet picks are piranhas.

The sad thing is I bet they screw up things really badly and some of their victims will still vote for them next time around.
