“Schumer insisted that Democrats were not divided.” STF
"
when Democrats like Charles Schumer, senator from New York, declare
that the Obama administration’s signature achievement was a mistake. In a minute I’ll take on Mr. Schumer’s recent remarks.
But first, an update on Obamacare — not the politics, but the actual
policy, which continues to rack up remarkable (and largely unreported)
successes."
And then there’s the part where Warren and Sanders are completely sane and capable of both empathy and the formation of normal human attachments and relationships. Chuck, of course, took that difference with Cruz for granted, but it simply would never even register as a meaningful difference to Monica Crowley had he mentioned it. Indeed, if Chuck had raised it, Monica would have cried “foul.”
But then there’s the chasm between Schumer and Warren. Clearly Schumer doesn’t even notice it.
The media jumped on Cruz’ stunt which was designed to draw their attention away from Warren’s cogent and serious objections to the Citigroup written amendment. Cruz has NOTHING to offer, and never has had. He’s there to get the headlines, and the news media is absolutely stupid to fall for it.
What Democrat has pulled stunts like this? No one. Schumer is often wrong but he’s right about this: it is a completely false equivalency, though trying to educate the media about that is impossible, apparently.
Here’s one comparison: Warren is a responsible citizen who lives in reality; Cruz in a self-created ignoramus who lives in a right-wing fantasy bubble.
Another benefit of the Cruzing event is that it puts the last nail in the GOP litigation coffin over Obama’s immigration executive orders. If there was ever any doubt that the immigration argument was a political question, not fit for judicial intervention, that ended it.
As I read it the sum of the Democrats, Independents and Republicans that voted against this bill came to 50. That means only fifty voted for it, which means that to pass Biden would have had to cast the deciding vote. Am I wrong or why haven’t I seen this bit anywhere. I added up the numbers as reported in the NYTimes twice and it still came to 50. Can someone enlighten me?
Or one could say Cruz is a responsible citizen who believes in the Constitution; Warren is a self/media created ignoramus who lives in a left-wing fantasy bubble.
No one could not, only the RWNJs can say that (well and one questionable marine)
Look whose given up all false pretenses.
Dude, you stole my line : )
One can compare anything to anything, that does not mean that they are comparable.
Like, lets compare birth certificates. Yes they were both born but Cruz is a born communist. That truth is worse than the Kenyan lie and Warren totally wins.
couldn’t resist and I did not properly attribute it. But then what can you expect from a real (albeit old) Marine.
the whole democratic party leadership during the time of the bailouts should be fired and not re-elected
I think Ted Cruz is a clown. Just like I think Elizabeth Warren is a clown. It is easy to be Ted Cruz and Elizabeth Warren. They don’t have to get anything done, they can make grand speeches and take no compromise positions. When you have to actually get things done, compromise is required. That is one reason, neither of these two have any chance of being elected President. We don’t elected hard-liners, which is what they both are.
Saying some folks voted against something without pointing out why they against it is piss poor reporting. Their reasons were completely different.
Exactly, Warren is an ignoramus for opposing a last-minute rider that would put the economy at risk by allowing the biggest banks to gamble with taxpayer-insured funds only six years after most of us learned learned our lesson.
Or not.
Can you defend having this rider in the funding bill?
Go for it, I don’t mind at all. And, I see that the make believe marine is still playing the dark cloud on a sunny day routine. A depressed phony is pretty damn pathetic.
