Discussion: School Bars 9-Year-Old From Wearing 'Make America Great Again' Hat

At the least dog knows what’s up.

“I’ve told them his policies on illegal immigration, and our Second
Amendment, and our First amendment and all of our amendments that need
to be protected which are not going to be an amendment at all if Hillary
Clinton or Bernie Sanders gets elected,” Autry told the station.

It is sad when Fox-news-ish nonsense comes out of the mouths of babes.

At first I thought the headline meant that Trump had gone back to school – although most 9-year olds are better behaved.

Oh, dog, this kid needs to be in Child Protective Services. (only half snark … or … 1/2-s)

“School Bars 9-Year-Old From Wearing ‘Make America Great Again’ Hat.”

Little Logan just earned himself a well-deserved scholarship to Trump U.

Harvard, Yale, and Princeton’s loss.

Alternatively, when I explained the differences between Sec. Clinton and Mr. Trump, my little boy said:

“Trump must be in high school!”

“I still want to keep my hat. It’s not the hat that draws attention, it’s just my personality that the other children do not like,” he told KFSN.

He’s Trump’s mini-Me.

Children this age are not making their own decisions – this is the kid’s parents political announcement and he is paying the social price for it. If its OK to wear a Trump hat, why not allow a KKK emblem or swastika too? Its just better to ban all political advertisement while in school. He is free to wear a Trump hat after school.

Sludge Report headline, later today:

MEXICAN DOG WORKS IN CAHOOTS WITH ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIMINAL INVADERS TO SUPPRESS FIRST AMENDMENT ON AMERICAN SOIL

He gets that from his parents, who are probably assholes.

My son (same age as him) asked me why Trump was allowed to run for president if he made so many people hate each other.

Though not everyone there thinks like this, it is Fresno. That region of California is very red.

Looks like this school missed an opportunity to teach students about peaceful dissent. My 6th grade teacher ripped us a new one when the class taunted the one child whose parents supported a different candidate for governor.

The temptation to mock is strong, but mostly I feel bad for him growing up in a family where he’s learned these beliefs.

Might as well just send the kid to school wearing a white hood.

And the dog ate it? I thought you’re not supposed to give dogs chinese food…

School authorities missed an opportunity here. Instead of making this about safety concerns, they should have posted the following message:

“When I was in school, back in the days when there was still some discipline in schools, recalcitrant students were forced to wear a dunce cap as punishment. Now they do it voluntarily.”

Yikes! Worst that ever happened to me was getting my hand slapped with a ruler!

In this case, the dissent was intended to be provocative and distracting in the class room. I doubt the child has any understanding of what Trump is really about – its been filtered by his parents. When my daughter attended grade school, they were allowed to wear what they wanted – except t-shirts with big logos or writing – which were walking advertisements. Our kids do not need to become billboards – political or otherwise.
