I think I am more than a little in love with Adam Schiff. LOL.
I really admire the fact that he does not mince words but neither does he indulge in hyperbole. He calmly states his position and his opinions, and I doubt very much he says anything he can’t back up with evidence.

Not just oversight, but accountability. Trump has never been accountable to anyone. I read early on in Trump’s campaign that it’s not that he’s a businessman, per se, that’s problematic.
It’s that he’s only ever worked in private family businesses in which he was never accountable to anyone (no boards, shareholders, etc). His whole skill set assumes no on will review what he does, or hold him responsible for his actions.

My room mate and I had that happen once, senior year in college. It was scary as shit; and jaw-dropping how much information the investigators had gathered (including, ahem, course grades). The crime was a likely organized crime hit in NJ. My friend had dated one of the victim’s kids the previous summer, and just happened to be driving back from NJ to Boston the night of the murder. My feeble attempt to maximize the time he spent on the road (he was a notorious leadfoot.) was not helpful. When the coppers flash the tin, it’s amazing how fast your scrotum shrinks. Haven’t thought about that afternoon for decades.

I’ve learned to have some respect for cops in general and investigators in particular since the days I was a mildly adventurous youth myself. There are duds like in any profession but they spend their whole day gathering evidence and asking people questions, and the non-duds are good at it. Even a good patrol officer can knock down a b.s. story pretty easily. They’ve heard it all and they can spot the holes.

Schiff is absolutely correct - Trump has never had anyone oversee his business or personal actions. He’s gotten away with massive illegalities for decades. He’s about to find out that crime doesn’t really pay.
