Cohen-Watnick will stay in his role at the NSC, according to Politico’s Ken Vogel.

Well, this is the question–is McMaster taking more control or not?

we can only hope this shakeup brings some level of strategic vision to the body.

I suppose he’s probably got to say that, but I hope he doesn’t hold his breath while waiting for that to happen - he’s doing too good a job for us to lose him.

That has always been my object in life. Of course it never turned out that way until I retired. When I was employed I put my back into it and have been very proud to have mentored 16 new fully fledged PhD’s over my career

McMaster/Hayden 2020? Three months ago that would sound rather scary, wouldn’t it? How times change, kids. Oy. Ok. Perhaps Gillibrand/Schiff. At this point, Pee-Wee Herman seems viable, but wait a few weeks.

Suspect that’s precisely (or at least roughly) what’s happened. McMaster leaving so soon (and in context with the news from Syria and N. Korea) would not look good, at all. Not after Flynn.
