Discussion: Schiff: GOP Blocked Dem Effort To Learn About Trump Jr. Call Ahead Of Meeting

Yes.
He and Trump are pussies.

Would we even know if he already has?

That’s what I’ve been thinking. Schiff is going to subpoena everything on day two - including the tax returns.

They’re banking on their voters’ utter ignorance, which seems to be a successful strategy.

The Republicans enable corruption. Let me count the ways.

This has been a day of explosive revelations which put us right back in familiar territory.

First, we have the news from last week that Mueller did seek materials about the Trump Tower meeting when the FBI raided Manafort’s home last August.

Second, we have the NYT article from this morning where emails hacked and stolen by a Putin rival more clearly establish Natalia Veselnitskaya as a Russian government agent and informant. She has reported to Yuri Chaika, the Russian public prosecutor (AG analog). Though we knew this already from the fact that she attended the Trump Tower meeting and Chaika was on the email chain and provided the information she used, this makes the case for Mueller very clear and succinct. Just like the Internet Research Agency indictment, Mueller can say that “Veselnitskaya = Russian gov’t agent. DT Junior arranged to meet said agent through intermediaries. DJ Jr, Manafort, Kushner met with Russian agent at Trump Tower offices. Email chain says that DT Jr wanted dirt. Russian agent supplied dirt. DT Junior wanted different dirt. Other issues were discussed. Therefore, DT Jr committed an act of conspiracy to violate federal election laws (as did Manafort, Kushner and the campaign entity).”

Third, we have the Adam Schiff revelation that DT Junior called a blocked number right at the time of that meeting. It is strongly suspected that he called his father as Trump Sr. used a blocked number throughout the campaign. That would mean that Junior informed Trump Sr in advance. [NOTE: it appears that Junior received the call from the blocked number, which means that if it was Trump’s number, it was Trump calling Junior].

Fourth, a NRA rep sent an email to Rick Dearborn (Sessions CoS) telling them that the Russians wanted to establish a back channel through the NRA. They even used the word ‘backchannel’. You can’t get clearer than that.

Fifth, Flynn and Son met with Kislyak about 5 days before he showed up in Moscow to sit at Putin’s table along with Jill Stein. If you look at the half year period prior, you see Flynn going rogue, getting more business from Russia and shopping his nuclear plan. The Steele Dossier named him as a Putin intermediary. This evidence seems to confirm it.

Maybe Mueller can take a peek at junior’s call records

In other words, the whole report is a GOP whitewash.

And I respectfully agree with your disagreement!

Hoping to soon read a similar headline:

‘Nunes is [a] dead [end]’ :smirk:

Further: Computer hacking is a Federal Crime. Using stolen materials in a campaign and failing to report the theft to the FBI would constitute, I think, misprision of a felony. And likely one could work in some additional conspiracy charges, as well.

But, I ain’t a lawyer.

I would think the Senate Investigation and the Mueller probe would know this and investigate.

We don’t have to wait that long.

The DNC filed a civil suit on April 20, against most of these same parties. A civil lawsuit includes DISCOVERY, and the attorneys for the DNC have subpoena power.

Just as soon as the Trump Campaign and the GOP file their “answer”. No waiting.

The committee wrote its report, apparently, without ever considering that people – including prosecutors – would be in a position to examine their decisions in detail.

And there are many things that they don’t want to admit to knowing, but which pile is bigger?

Can a member(s) of the House Intelligence Committee be indicted for obstruction of justice, or do we have to wait on their voters to decide if they like incompetent members of Congress?

Ooooh, that Donnie Jr.! I haven’t seen anything so sexy since that rotten avocado I found in the vegetable bin of my refrigerator last week.
Nice to know that sometimes they ARE just as ugly on the outside as on the inside.

Just wanting to know from California folks: Is Nunes guaranteed reelection in his district? Will he be challenged from the right (jeez, how would that be possible?)? Is there a Dem to oppose him successfully?

Not guaranteed. His district is a majority minority district as it is less than 50% white. The issue is that it’s a pocket in CA where turnout is abysmally low. We have a great candidate in Andrew Janz who is very capable and can win but Dems + indie turnout and percentages have to be strong for him.
