Cults often become corrupt because the sheep seldom question their shepherds. Self-correcting mechanisms that punish the corrupt disappear.
For most of the weekend, the NYT’s homepage stacked three legit GOP corrupt governor stories around slots 3, 4 & 5 on the news lead’s left column: McConnell, Christy and Perry. Not sure how badly this hurts the Republican brand, but it sure does mean bad things for governance.

Rep. DesJarlais is that scandal ridden member of Congress that should have been defeated but because of their mindset, the Teapublicans won’t abandon their candidate. They look beyond the surface to that which they want to see, Rep. DesJarlais’ complete obstructionism of the administration’s agenda to help the poor, disabled, immigrant, elderly and of course the unemployed.
Rep. DesJarlais has voted consistently against any bill that will further the agenda of the people rather than the corporations which have subsidized his continuing “existence” in Congress. Should he be reelected by the people of that district it would be a shame, shame enough to ensure that the people of that district would not be getting adequate representation in Congress.
Ah the party of Christian values once again presents us with a fine role model. He’s probably having a secret affair with a set of 12 year old albino conjoined twins because Jesus told him to.

“Ah am a good Christian.” Who will vote for the lying sack of excrement who violated professional ethics by by sexually involved with a patient, who then pressured her to have an abortion, in spite of claiming to be pro-life and who, assuming he wins a second term will collect a nice fat pension from the government he will spend his time keeping from functioning. All because of ignorant, fearful, self-righteous hypocrites, also known as ‘good Christians.’

DesJarlais wins GOP Primary “with” 38 votes means that he got only 38 votes. Actually, he won “by” 38 votes.

He’s prayed to god and he’s been forgiven. Now he’s holier, of moral character and more righteous than Barack Obama (even though there’s been no reports of President Obama cheating on his wife and forcing his mistress of have an abortion).

The fact that over 34,000 Republican voters cast a ballot for this repulsive creep is objective, iron-clad proof that Republicans don’t actually give a rat’s bleeding ass about so-called “family values.” It’s always been just a cudgel to hit Democrats on the head with, and nothing more.
