Actually when Santorum’s Italian ancestors came here between the late 1800’s until the 1924 Immigration act around 20-30% went back home due to the lack of labor protections, discrimination or got tired of America and longed for the homeland. Whether they sparked a renaissance in Sicily or Naples it can’t be determined.
