Discussion: Sanders To CNN: Your Network Calls Trump 'Evil' 'Day-In, Day-Out'

Listening to Trump and his minions talk like this is exactly like listening to an abusive spouse or parent justify the abuse. “Do you think I LIKE hitting you?” [Whack.] “I’m doing this for your own good – If you didn’t screw up all the time I wouldn’t have to correct you.” [Whack…] "You can stop this any time you want. You know that, right? [Whack.] “I HATE it when you make me do this.” [Whack.]

The weirdest thing is that these are the same people who are currently in complete control of the government and the economy. They’re the top dogs and yet they behave as if they’re impotent victims groaning under the oppressive yoke of the Failing News Media, elitist college professors, immigrant gang members running rampant in the streets and Cadillac-driving food stamp recipients (who just happen to be brown people)
.
“Don’t you dare call me racist! That’s sick! that’s EVIL!” [Whack.]

This kind of nit-picky stuff with its breathless air and tone of umbrage has become very, very tired.

Is there nothing to say at all about what national Dem leadership is doing or more likely not doing? I’d really like to know if they have a notion of how to address GOP predations against human being besides screaming for 5 minutes and then returning to their safe space.

Ideas? Actions? Anything constructive and forward looking instead of tired old reaction all the time?

Appropriate characterization from the late M. Scott Peck:

"Prominent American psychiatrist M. Scott Peck on the other hand, describes evil as “militant ignorance.” The original Judeo-Christian concept of “sin” is as a process that leads us to “miss the mark” and fall short of perfection. Peck argues that while most people are conscious of this at least on some level, those that are evil actively and militantly refuse this consciousness. Peck characterizes evil as a malignant type of self-righteousness which results in a projection of evil onto selected specific innocent victims (often children or other people in relatively powerless positions). Peck considers those he calls evil to be attempting to escape and hide from their own conscience (through self deception) and views this as being quite distinct from the apparent absence of conscience evident in sociopaths."

They have yet to offer a shred of empirical evidence for any of their outrageous and incendiary allegations.

Within about one month of his inauguration, Trump referred to the press as the enemy of the people. He continues to rage about his press coverage deeming anything unflattering or truthful -fake news. SHS knows this and is complicit.

When is that rapture supposed to happen for the Huckster and her tribe? Geez, I can’t wait until they’re gone.

I think SHS is confusing CNN with all the republicans on MSNBC.

In hog years, it should be soon.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders accused CNN of referring to President Trump and his supporters as “evil” “day-in, day-out”

Well yes but that’s because he is, in fact, evil.

What even is the strategy here? Do they really think “you asked for the bomb, libtard” will fly outside of the 27%? Is there a strategy at all?

Are we back to this, reduced to this, that the audience for this entire communications strategy is one? The Mad King must be coddled and assured during executive time that it wasn’t his fault, nothing was his fault, actually it was their fault?

The thing is–“The Media” is desperately pining for a hero or heroine to emerge from the swamp of corruption and complicity. John McCain is gone and Jeff Flake is too feckless. Any one of these administration people or R members of Congress could stand up, speak the truth, walk away and get their little piece of history. As well as a generous book contract and cable news guest slot.

Why doesn’t anyone do it? Because Jesus really wants them to stay the course on tax cuts and deregulation?

That is an awesome quote, I had not heard that before. That really about sums it up. To a tee, actually.

And there is this false equivalency going on in the Right. If they feel they have ever been insulted it is exactly the same thing as Pres Trump calling for violence against his critics or opponents.
