Discussion: Sanders Reacts To DNC Emails About His Religion: 'I Think It's Outrageous'

More outrageous? That Sanders doesn’t denounce Russian hackers turning over personal financial information (the WikiLeaks contain ID numbers and credit card info) to Assange, who then posted the financial information online.

As you dismiss 60% of the Democratic voters and pretty much all of the Democratic Senators. Methinks you are just fine with a tiny tent, as long as it is “pure”

Which candidates would those be? Please provide links and dates. Because John Fetterman certainly wasn’t one of them

You weren’t a DEM, you suddenly became a DEM, and you didn’t win the DEM nomination.

Yes, it was outrageous, now it’s time to move on and prevent King Donnie the Orange.

edit “King” not “kind” < Freudian slip in retrospect…

Willing to bet, huh? I’m in, how much?

I agree. This is the only issue in those emails that i found inappropriate so far. Again, discussion between individuals (even discussion of his religion) is ok, any suggestion of using it in the election is inappropriate both on its own and in view of neutrality that DNC should maintain. On the other hand, this suggestion was not used in the campaign, so hopefully other DNC employees shut it down quickly.

He mostly did, but it doesn’t matter much to the BernieBros. They are going to have throw a snit over this, and everything else, regardless of its importance. Which normally wouldn’t bother me, but people like Jake Tapper are going out of their way to over represent them so they can carry Trump’s water and continue the message of “Dems in Disarray!!”

My bet for next week is that Trump bitches and moans about every speaker at the convention, and the MSM gives him near equal time to do so…completely oblivious to the fact that they all but ignored Hillary last week.

Nothing earth-shattering, no smoking gun from what has been released. Some stupid comments like Brad Marshalls’s (who then apologized, I read) that should have never been made.

Having said that, there’s no evidence his idea was actually carried out. No evidence the DNC made any systematic interventions in the process. And the sentiment expressed there is not surprising at all in the context that (1) one of the candidates has worked for the party for decades and (2) his campaign was extremely hostile to the DNC during that time period.

What I feel now is let’s not play into Putin’s hands…

A leak from Wikileaks revealed a number of internal emails exchanged by DNC members. One of which showed DNC CFO Brad Marshall saying that Sanders’ atheist beliefs could be used against him.

Two questions: 1) Is there any evidence that any Democrat actually did try to use it against him? And 2) Are you saying our Republican brothers and sisters are altogether too high-minded to use it against him in a general election?

Putin could be Manafart’s Botox connection…

Oh, please, Bernie – what they did was very typical opposition strategy back-and-forth. If you are seriously upset over that, well it’s just that much more proof you were never prepared to run up against Donald Trump or any Republican. Hillary was easy as hell on you. Plus, the DNC did nothing to favor Hillary. So fucking what there were staffers on the DNC who were pro-Hillary – she’s been a Democrat for decades and knows many more Democratic operatives, staffers and the like than you. Seriously, get over yourself, dude.

I’m intrigued, and would like to see this. Can you provide citations?

Wow. I don’t think I’ve ever seen sore winners quite like this. If I were judging Hillary by the kind of people who support her…

Mook brought up Putin on ThisWeek and Stephie then asked Manafart about it.
Nothing on Meet the Press…
Joy briefly discussed it on MSNBC.
I didn’t see Face and try not to watch CNN.

…and then judged Sanders by his supporters, you would understand why she won.

Maximus: A summary of Bernie’s legislative accomplishments. Or for a more complete index. The summary article is worth the read.

They really don’t see their industry is on the line as well, do they? Then again they may be fine with becoming a Pravda as long as that continues to benefit them…

ETA:

She did an interview with Rose during the GOP convention, and they couldn’t help commenting to the effect that it was not very usual a candidate did this when his/her opponent’s convention was in progress. I go out on a yuuuuuuge limb that will never break and predict they won’t say anything like that when Trump calls in here, calls in there, bitching and trashing. They will gleefully let him.

So because Republicans do it, more frequently toward those of Muslim faith, it’s fair game in your book? Nice.

Dear HeadUpHisAss:

Good for him. The last two links are essentially the same “feel good” story in two different places talking about Sanders lending fund raising help to 3 candidates. The first piece is even more a fluff piece disguised as news. How much did he raise for all of the people mentioned? Why is the “famous fund raising letter” not included?

And what about poor John Fetterman?

As far as his legislative record

Basically, Bernie has very few accomplishments for 20+ years in Congress. Largely because he is a professional protester…he offers up purity bills and sits on high and scolds everyone for not being as pure as he is and then watches them die because he cannot build the relationships necessary to get things passed. And of course, he can never compromise and work something out, because to do that is to become less pure and thus lose the view from on top Sanctimonious Mountain.

Hillary didn’t receive the huge majority of support from Democrats in Congress because of some vast conspiracy…she did it because she spends a lot of time and effort building relationships with these people. Bernie on the other hand, spends time scolding them and wagging his finger at them. As two results of that…he gets very little accomplished in Congress and he gets very little support from Congress members.
