“Throwing chairs during a caucus, however…”
Okay, I officially apologize to Bernie. I’ve said here multiple times that he’d use any denunciation of violence by Hillary to drive a wedge for the sake of a few percentage points in CA, and I was wrong.
“If people are thinking about violence, please do not tell anybody you are a Bernie Sanders supporter, because those are not the supporters that I want,” the Vermont senator said.
Sanders went on to add, “Save that kind of energy for when you see Hillary or her supporters.”

“I understand the anger. But we are not going to defeat Trump by throwing eggs or getting involved in violence of any kind.”
“And you know who also likes eggs?” Senator Sanders continued. “Hillary Clinton! Scrambled, fried, poached, you name it!”
It’s strange, but I have such an angry reaction to this statement…these people may or may not be Sanders’ supporters and we get such a very strong denouncement of th actions of those people. In regards to what went on in Nevada, however, we get some wishy-washy victim-blaming nonsense.
Good on him. But I will say that he’s tapping into that “emotion” to energize his campaign and even though he doesn’t endorse it and is repudiating it in no uncertain terms, once riding the wild horse, it’s hard to get it back into the stall.
Furthermore, am I the only one who notices that, like many on the far left, Bernie is much more inspired when attacking center-left and mainstream Democrats than he is attacking the far right and Republicans? I don’t think I’m imagining this.
Maybe it’s because they’re more exasperating.
Totally in the shell for Big Egg.
Sanders threatens to eggscommunicate rowdy supporters who open carry ova.
Bernie Bros will be upset that you are making a yolk at Bernie’s expense.
Reasonable point. Paving Stones and other projectiles are much more effective than eggs.
Good statements from both Democratic candidates.
Here’s the video of Bernie making his:
This was probably a false flag incident staged by GOP / right wing / fascist regime. False flag attacks are the usual now, since the government / Obama / dubya / FBI routinely engage in them. To understand who may be the perp in any false flag attacks, one need only consider who will profit from the attack. A false flag attack is every bit as likely in this incident as any other cause / creator of it. Other postings apparently are not willing to consider realistic options here and I’m disappointed with the quality of commentators in this blog.
Yes, but Bernie is desparatetely trying to eke out a pyrrhic victory in CA and I think he wants to be seen, on the one hand, as condemning the eggsistential threat of violent egg throwing, but at the same time cultivating approval from hispanic voters, who may (i don’t know CA politics anymore) tilt toward Clinton, by standing up firmly on their side.
He’s really become quite Quixotic. And I’m starting to wonder if he’s named his bus Rocinanté.
But we are not going to defeat Trump by throwing eggs or getting involved in violence of any kind. We defeat Trump when we stand together as one people and fight for a progressive agenda. Educate. Organize. Bring out large numbers of people."
Well, good on Bernie. Do I detect a note of conciliation here? A move toward party unity? If so, not before time, I’d say.
WooWoo alert!
Too subtle by half.
He’s to be lauded for not egging them on.
