Lucky Sarah. Today is the first time in weeks she has had Donald Trump’s undivided attention without any interruptions.
It may be callous of me, but with this (mal)administration, I don’t give damn what the reasons for the leaks are – I just want them to keep on leaking because that’s the only way we have the slightest idea at all of what sort of weirdness is going on.
(Not that I am comforted by knowing about it – I just want to make sure that this circus is never, ever, ever normalized.)

WOW! That’s a pretty harsh rebuke of the hosts at Fox State News. I never pegged SHS as one being capable of telling the truth, but there it is! On live TV, no less!
This just occurred to me: when Princess Hamhocks had her meeting with staff about the leaks, which was promptly leaked, according to axios and others, by five different staffers who were either there or knew someone there, these subsequent, immediate and numerous leaks must mean that she is not a well-liked entity in the White House. It’s pretty clear that she has earned neither loyalty nor respect from colleagues — perhaps she will, in the end, crack and throw in the towel.

Well, Sarah, even an asshole as big as Mitch McConnell just called on Kelly Sadler to public apologize to John McCain, and that makes you look like an even bigger asshole than usual, which is nearly impossible. So your little spinning wheel of lies didn’t work, because if the heat on this issue is so bad that even Turtle’s tiny balls are feeling the flames, then you’d best give it up, girlfriend.

You have to be into ultra-uber flag wrapping and projection. They are all heroic figures, suggesting brave and good. That means the “opponent” has to be a coward.
Now, I will give you warning, my 2 cents psychological analysis. You might notice that there is literally no real opponent here, since they are talking about themselves. Which it very much is, this is projection, they know themselves as cowards, and need to rid themselves of their guilt, so they “project” it, that is some “other” which in this case is a fantasy, does not even exist. This allows the “other” to contain the guilt in their minds, compartmentalizing it from their everyday activities. This allows them to continue to function despite overwhelming hypocrisy.

What’s revealing about this is that people (WH staffers, reporters and journalists who expose the truth of their corruption) are opponents, ergo the enemy. The enemy is within. They cannot see the enemy because their own reflections have no soul.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. I find psychoanalytic models work extremely well with these guys. So much so that it starts to feel cliche.
I have no gut understanding of patriotism. I’m American, but grew up in Canada (but recently moved to US.) We don’t do fanatic flag waving or talk about being patriots. My father is Australian and he has never understood the flag business either. His favourite anecdote is that there was never a problem with excessive use of flags for waving or burning growing up in Tasmania because where were you going to get a bloody flag?
