I donât think you people get it. I think youâre all so terrified of a Trump presidency that youâve become paralyzed.
Donât get me wrongâIâm just a little terrified of the prospects of President Trump myself.
However:
Trumpâs gonna get every vulgarian and ignoramus in the nation excited about voting for him, and theyâre gonna vote for him. Thatâs a crapload of votes.
Clinton will keep the mainstream Democrats (you all), women, and minorities because theyâll vote against Trump if nothing else. This wonât be enough to beat Trump.
But:
Sheâll also let Sanders and his hordes (who have every bit of the energy on the Democratic side) into the tent. Sheâll choose an attractive, progressive running mate, and co-opt the lefty exuberance and enthusiasm, with Sanders helping her.
Then:
Trumpâs Mindless Hordes and Clintonâs Coalition of the Sane will both give it all theyâve got. It will be an election season for the ages.
And:
Clinton will win big-time.
Itâs good Sanders is still around (and a Democrat), because 1) he moves the agenda to the left whereâletâs face itâwe all know it should be, 2) heâs not running as a third-party candidate and draining votes from Clinton, and 2) he injects the righteous anger and energy into the mix. This is something Clinton obviously lacks, and without it, she may well just lose to Trump outright.
Sanders is the thing that will help Clinton beat Trump, and the USA will be all the better for it.
â$12 is less than $15! COPORATE SHILL!!! Iâm going to vote third party/not vote and ensure it stays $7.25! Thatâll show them, I am smart votersman!â
What I see is Gore taking on a post-partisan posture. This may be completely genuine, but it is also a convenient way to keep from [strongly] endorsing Clinton.
And youâre still an asshole and have no idea what youâre talking about. If you remotely understood neoliberalism you wouldnât say the stupid shit you always say.
Basically, youâre a bore, always reacting to perceived slights with cheap personal shots at posters, never presenting a thought or idea as to the thread at hand. Youâre always booing from the cheap seats.
Now Bernie is just openly whining and threatening for the hell of it. He has lost already. There is nothing to be gained by all of this except more complaining because all of the threats and whining wonât change the outcome.
I have never seen a candidate whine and complain so much in my life. Every day he proves that he does not have the temperament to be president. He keeps reminding everybody that heâs a whiney old man.
Thatâs the hopeful vision â and I hope you are right. However, how many people has Sanders alienated from the democratic party? What about the Bernie or Bust crowd that he does not disavow? What about his supporters digging up and circulating right wing smears to infect new voters? What about his own attacks of corruption and character smears that cannot be undone? If he were really about helping democrats grow the party and win this election, he would be more of a leader of his supporters in this endeavor instead of standing by and benefitting personally from the hatred they are reveling in. Yes indeed â we are really worried.
Glad to see this article use 'chaos" and 'ruckus" to describe Nevada conventionâdown a notch from âviolent.â Maybe it will finally be described as âone person lifted a chairâ and a mutual âshouting match,â which appears closest to the truth. So sure, democracy is messy, so what?âat least until hyperbole makes it bloody Armageddon with Sanders as the Four Horsemenâas many here are doing. Reminds me when Howard Dean simply yelled out celebrating his political victory at his rally and was branded, well, something terrible, a loser and uncontrollable maniac. Itâs messy and more than messy, all right. But itâs the worst teachers whose recourse is to always call for quiet and order before the discussion has ended⌠So if you continue to be loud and messy, thatâs fine, but be accurate and avoid the cheap shot and the ad hominem. Not only is it divisive but itâs politically naive and self-defeating as these things long leave a bad taste in the mouth, even come election time.
Yeah the âmutual shouting matchâ that ended in death threats and harassing phone calls to the party officialâs place of work from only one side of the âmutual shouting matchâ (I guess the paramedics were called because of burst eardrums from the âshoutingâ)âŚ
Letâs not attempt to whitewash what happened in NV because It makes Sanders look bad. Also we had this argument yesterday.
I donât like he is trying to force his views on the Democratic Party. You took message to the voters and a majority of the rejected that message. you need to move on and not try to destroy everything that has been built
I do not believe that Trump will win the PresidencyâŚbut, in the event that he does, January 2017 will the start of The Dark Ages 2.0
There is no doubt in my mind. SCOTUS, finger-pointing and atomized cohorts of non-Baggers, racial strife, repression, no Fourth Estate (Trump has plans). And worse than even that because that which has played too much of a part in âunitingâ us ($$$$$$) will be so corruptly exponential in growth and influence, that no feeling, honour or legitimate emotion will be free from lucre.
There are too many people who are my-way-or-the-highway who, unfortunately, have been given the power to vote.
This isnât just a prediction by Bernie, without the revolutionaries he has nothing. He isnât going to the convention to pound the agenda. That would be a flip flop by him.
He took a quick shot at policy and was exposed for being the lightweight that he is, again, all heâs got is blind anger. If he talked policy, heâd be a Democrat and we already have a candidate that smokes him in that department.
The Bernie Revolucion is a keepsake button, it isnât a form of governance and it isnât even authentic. Bernieâs, fight the man-beware the establishment grunts are just a never ending wave that he jumped on with a lot of us since itâs inception. I still fight for all these things and Iâm sure I will forever. But I work with the good parts of the establishment while being vigilant over the bad.
The new kids on the block are welcome in case they donât realize that or are being âmisguidedâ.
Bern it all down is the same idea as a riot and gets no one anywhere. We arenât starting America over for any reason and especially not because of one grouchy old disgruntled citizen. If Bernie wants messy, he should dive in and work with team democracy not fight against it just to cause a mess for the sake of a mess.
America is a revolution, we are already working to perfect it, not by bomb nor blast but by wise and constant effort.
