To paraphrase the song from Evita, when the money stops rolling in you should ask why.
What really soured me about Sanders and money is that he isnāt raising any money for down ballot candidates. You canāt have a revolution when the Congress is in Republican hands.
This AP report is on several sites today. Thatās probably good for Bern. Iām sure it will inspire his donors to give $27 one more time.
But it was totally worth it! Because WOW look at the huge boost it gave his campaign!
Janeās tax returns for many prior years would also be interesting. The years she was on Bernieās Congessional and Senate staff; what was she paid and what did she do for all that taxpayer money? What about their Capital Hill house; how did they treat that for tax purposes, how much did they make on rental, and where did the money come from to buy it? And her presidency of Burlington College? More questions surrounding that than there is space to enumerate. Oh, and the kids and grandkids. Nothing like converting your Senate seat into a revolutionary family business.
Jesus, is there anyone left on his side who scored above 400 on the math portion of the SAT?
Which isnāt really true. Sanders has toned down his rhetoric considerably since the 70s. No more overt shows of solidarity with the Iranian revolution. Cries to nationalize all banks has turned to merely breaking them up because the exist. Gone are the calls to seize the assets of wealthy Americans outright, now it is perceived that the tax code should be used.
You can see such display of awarness even in this campaign. Did you watch all those impassioned speeches about his energy plans being delivered in West Virginia and Kentucky? Yeah, neither did anybody elseā¦because he dropped any reference to energy entirely from his speeches there.
Bernieās schtick is pretty transparent if you know what to look at. He panders with the best of them, and can turn on a dime when he sees its necessary. Corrupt Hillary super PACs and Democrat fund raisersā¦including Goldman Sachsā¦were just fine when Bernie has his hat out for money in 2006, Evil NRA was totally cool when they helped Bernie finally get elected by targeting his opponent. For which Bernie gratefully delivered a series of votes their way.
One of my personal favorites is still, at a Town Hall meeting earlier in the year, he was asked a question about higher taxes for his health care plan by a woman who worked in the insurance business. And Bernie explained how taxes would go up a little bit, but her premiums would be eliminated entirely, so overall she would be much better off.
Except he left out the part about her career in the insurance industry would be completely over,as there would no longer be an insurance industry. So overall she would be unemployed and homeless.
I suspect he even has the words to the āInternationaleā committed to memory and could belt it out on request.
Iād bet the GOP would be happy to help.
They financed Naderās TV ads at the end of his campaign.
Actually, itās like heās obsessed with celebrating the āairing of grievancesā part of Festivus
No wonder Bernie has gotten so shrill in the last week.
trump 101.
she and Shelli Hutton worked with current Sanders strategist Tad Devine for two years in the 1990s at the ad-buying agency Doak, Shrum & Associates
OMFG. The legendary stink of Bob Shrum has wreaked havoc on yet another Presidential campaign. LOLOLOLOLOLOLLLLLLLLLL
When asked about how he will deal with Republican obstructionism he says he wonāt have to because they wonāt be there when heās swept in to office in a political revolution.
The āhair on fireā look is reasonably inexpensive. Apply Vitalis liberally, then style with a flaming Zippo.
You know, Iāve been saying since I first heard him start promising shit, that he is the absolute biggest panderer of all time. Like that message wasnāt carefully calculated to be all that a young white American wanted to hear.
Then they accused Hillary of pandering. No she hasnāt changed her policies; sheās changed some of the stances to reflect changing circumstances and changing ideas over time. But nothing like the bald-faced bullshit Bernie has stood there and promised people since this whole thing began.
I have never heard such pandering in my life - he has promised the sun the moon and the stars.
'How did you go bankrupt? āTwo waysā, Bernie said. āGradually, and then suddenly.ā The money flow slowed, then it was gone all at once. Jane, in tears and screaming at the staff, left the hotel with a stranger and got into the back seat of a limo parked in the circle. But the limo didnāt move. The driver was having lunch in the shade and taking a call from his office. The campaign had ended.
ā¦and since weāre Bernie Bitching, another thing that really butters my buns is the whole ādemocratic socialistā thing. In 40 years he couldnāt bother joining the Democratic Party? He has to be a socialist?
Better, more affordable schools, affordable health care, an economy thatās not slanted for the .01%.
These arenāt socialist ideas. How about talking about civic duty, personal responsibility and community good instead of having people arguing about what a freaking socialist is.
What Bernie did with the money was go from 52 points down in the polls to winning 21 states. Pretty damn impressive.
