Discussion for article #247010
Did his campaign not have permission to use it? Did anyone complain about it? Of course, the original tweet is already in digital circulation, so it really doesn’t matter.
Meh. I’m a Hillary supporter and not a Bernie Bro by any stretch, but this seems like a big bag of nothing. An overeager social media staffer who went to Google images for Selma and picked the clearest one that came up without checking it too carefully.
Maybe I’m missing the obvious, but what’s the issue here? Was it just that it was a photo from the movie and not the actual event?
So what am I supposed to be outraged at here exactly?
That is was a still from a movie depicting the events in question?
Yeah, not sure what this nothing-burger of an article is trying to gin-up?
We’re deep into Silly Season, so the answer is “anything and everything.”
Yes. Stupid unforced error.
Cool this is a great story.
I don’t even know what the point of it is, but I do know that it probably helps John McCain.
Really, Eustace? hoNESt IjunN? !!!1111!!
Well then.
I am outraged at the outrage. As well as those being outraged at those outraged by the outrage!!!one!!
Probably best, if you’re trying to draw attention to an historical event, to use footage from that actual event if such footage exists, and not footage from a dramatization of it, but even so, yawn.
#Your outrage is completely OUTRAGEOUS, and I am absolutely outraged at all the outrage by outrageous out-ragers!
Whew…just had to get that rage out!
“I think all righthtinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary, decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not! And I’m sick and tired of being told that I am.”
(all apologies to Graham Chapman and Monty Python)
This is a weak piece even as clickbait. So who am I to click it?
TPM, thank me.
Very politically astute of you, m_p
Please clap.
This article , as with many others, is an outlet for outrageously snarky comments which are fun to read.
Outrage might be a strong word but let’s imagine for a moment how, if you are one to casually dismiss this news, imagine how you might react to Clinton tweeting out something in favor of taking on Wall Street and then posting a picture of Gordon Gekko. We’d assail her as naive and unserious for a whole host of very legitimate reasons that don’t need a lot of explaining yeah?
