Discussion: Ryan: We'll Try To Repeal And Replace Obamacare 'Concurrently'

Hey, TPM, how about posting the breaking story about O’Reilly?

Scumbag.

This has nothing to do with fixing this"mess" as he calls it, even though there would be no “mess” if it wasn’t for republicans like him. What this is about is setting up a blame strategy. What i read is he wants to chip away at it with the 51 votes to damage it more, because more insurers will drop out. Then when democrats don’t accept his “fix” and the “mess” gets worse he plans to blame them. The Donald who i’m sure Ryan is thinking keep your big mouth shut said himself “make sure democrats get the blame” nothing republicans do is about governing

So are these people, according to NYT

The speed of Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act has stunned health industry lobbyists, leaving representatives of insurance companies, hospitals, doctors and pharmaceutical makers in disarray and struggling for a response to a legislative quick strike that would upend much of the American health care system.

You mean about him settling another sexual harassment claim in the “high six figures”?

To be fair to O’Lielly, this sum also covers “inappropriate behavior” on the part of newly appointed Fox News co-President Jack Abernethy.

Or about that elitist “reverse McCarthyism”? Or, hell, he’s got so many issues that you’re going to have to break down and pick one.

Trump, Ryan, McConnell and their enablers have promised the American people a unicorn.

Those of us who watched the ACA come together can appreciate how incredibly difficult it is to create a mechanism to insure everyone at affordable prices. Ryan cannot possible deliver on this promise even if he had 10 years. This is because the ACA is the conservative plan. A state based marketplace where private insurers compete for consumer business. Subsides also state based with Federal funding.

Good luck creating a stable insurance market that includes mandatory per-existing coverage (which Republicans now love) and excludes an individual mandate (which Republicans have vowed to eliminate). It can’t be done. And good luck paying for all this without the taxes and employer mandates Republicans also hate.

Yes, just read the story. Isn’t it time for O’Reilly to spend more time with his dog?

More from the NYT article:

As part of Ms. Huddy’s confidential agreement with 21st Century Fox, she agreed not to “disparage, malign or defame” the parties and the company, on its behalf and on the behalf of Mr. O’Reilly and Mr. Abernethy, agreed not to “disparage, malign or defame” Ms. Huddy.

The consequences for breaking the confidentiality of the agreement are severe, costing either side $500,000 per infringement, according to the document. Ms. Huddy is also liable if her lawyers or a person close to her discloses the terms of the agreement.

That really sucks.

Right now, Ryan testes are in a vise that’s being tightened by different groups taking their turn at the grip.

The 1% is demanding tax cuts, very large tax cuts and taking an ax to the ACA delivers much of those quickly. The health insurance lobby, who largely crafted the ACA, doesn’t give a sh*t about the feral trumpers or the 1%. They’re fighting tooth and nail for the future of their business.

Ryan never really anticipated he’d be where he is now but here we are.

I’m assuming that right now, former House Speak. Boner is raising yet another glass to The Wheel of Fortune.

Anyone else notice that Paul Ryan has the type of face you like to slap or hit? You know, the face in carnivals you throw pies or water balloons at and score points for hitting.

This clown, and that is what Ryan is as Paul Krugman keeps pointing out but because he can at least put a sentence together without spitting all over himself the media has deemed the “wonk” of the GOP, has no replacement for Obamacare that does not take away between 25,000,000 to 35,000,000 people health care over half of whom voted for Trump. So instead he of his usual of giving false facts which Paul Krugman and others with IQs over 20 tear apart, he is spitting all over himself and talking obvious nonsense about replacing Obamacare. That is from the article not one thing of substance out of Ryan’s mouth in regard to replacement of Obamacare.

I have said this now several times as to what is going to happen and Ryan’s recent statements make it even more obvious. The GOP is going to pass a 10,000 page bill replacing Obamacare that have billions if not trillions of giveaways to GOP flunkies but have nothing to do with healthcare other than change the name from “The ACA/Obamacare” to “Really great Trump care”.

It will be replaced with Freedom™. Liberty™. Individual responsibility™. Oh and did I say Freedom™?

Come on, Paul. Embrace your inner Trump.

But we’re keeping them secret because people will like them too much.

Hmm, yeah. So they repeal and then they say “Democrats, pass our plan,” and the Democrats say “Kindly go fuck yourselves,” and they go “Welp we tried sorry no healthcare for you it’s all the Dems’ fault why do they hate the white working class…” And Paulie is betting that his boys are gerrymandered into impunity, but the smart money in the Senate isn’t so sure about that. Which is really saying something, given the formidable Senate map for the Dems in 2018…

My bet is still on Repeal and Tax Cut. Republicans are grandmasters in messaging and media falls all over them.

Teatroll Rosetta Stone: “We need to do something illusory right quick, before more people start to realize the ACA is really working, so we can pretend that all the ‘working’ is really what we did, not the ACA.”

Yeah. So many people are “struggling” under PPACA that a record number of people have just signed up for it. Guess they didn’t hear about all of the people “suffering” under PPACA? /s #WTF

I’ve thought that just change the name to ReaganCare and quite a few of them might well be just fine with it. The only conflict between Unpresident Nazifrog and the Congressional GOP I can imagine now in that scenario is whether to rename it to ReaganCare or TrumpCare.

Buckle up…?
