At some point in the future, during times when one party controls the White House and the other controls the House and Senate, will we see Congress eliminate the live Presidential State of the Union speech and just have the President submit a written report? A live State of the Union speech gives the President a lot of free advertising that would not necessarily be to the advantage of the party controlling Congress.
