Ryan is insisting that the President of the United States is “familiar with” one of the main tools used to keep tabs on terrorist threats to our nation, one that has been the subject of much political discussion and a bit of controversy, one that he has claimed was misused against his personal friends and even himself. Not “knowledgeable about” or “intimately concerned with” or “the subject of detailed consideration”. Merely “familiar” - and this is supposed to be a reassuring statement?
And Trump’s own tweets pretty much contradict his assertion anyway.
