They are welcome to join former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, who started whoring for Gazprom as soon as he left office. Downside: he lost all credibility and is now a pariah in German politics. Well, you can’t have everything.

This is the kind of shit that makes my blood boil. Fucking former Senators working for a foreign country…which we just so happen to have huge foreign policy problems with because they’re currently invading a sovereign country for whom we are allied with…They need to be sanctioned too, both of these asswipes for traitorous acts. When Senators or former Senators work for foreign countries that’s just fucking UNAMERICAN! Aren’t there laws against this? How is this allowed? Is nothing sacred anymore?

Patriotism Is Dead.

It [Gazprom, parent of Gazprombank GPB (OJSC)] was banned in July by the U.S. Treasury Department from working with American institutions, as part of a series of sanctions against Russia.

So.

Does that mean that Squire Patton Boggs is breaking sanctions?

This is a Rooskie bank so how can they have the same lobbying rights as an American Bank

Oh Wait!!! I get it, all the world’s corporations and business will be treated as people in Washington DC just like we treat our own corporations as people.

Isn’t it nice that we don’t treat them the same way we treat undocumented workers and illegal immigrants!!

Cuz they pay Cash U.S.!

That’s disgusting. Shouldn’t sanctions be used to prohibit this?

Are there no depths to which the entitled class will not sink?

Considering how much work Senator Breaux did to get funding for Louisiana’s coastal erosion problem, this is somewhat surprising. The O&G industry has done extensive damage to the state’s wetlands and Breaux has been fighting for restoration and funding since the 1970s. Now he’s lobbying for a bank which is owned by a mammoth oil company…weird.
