Discussion: Russia FM Stresses To Pompeo 'Unacceptability' Of Butina Arrest

It’s like switching on the kitchen light and seeing them scurry like roaches to hide their influence operations with the NRA, evangelical groups and the like. God only knows how many dirty petrodollars have been flowing in to right-wing organizations. It’s going to be huge, and hugely damaging. Since Parkland the NRA has had a stink that won’t come off, and now this.

Lavrov is just clearing his throat, rehearsing, for when he demands Trump’s release.

I have an idea…why don’t you cancel Putin’s planned visit to DC? -that’ll really show us!

I know - it’s a dream come true really.

It’s always been puzzling how it was that the NRA went from a reasonable organization that taught gun safety and was in favor of gun control to the batshit nest of screeching extremists it has turned into.

I bet we find out.

Oh, and the NRA and the evangelical groups have been very very quiet about this scandal. I don’t recall hearing a peep from either.

Yeah me neither.

They were probably hoping to use that same Butina-NRA conduit to infiltrate and effect our midterms. I dare say the NRA has been rendered impotent for this cycle…so expect their guns to be ever larger.

Russian intelligence loves its skanks like Maria Putana and Preshitident Skanky-Manslut. Preshitident Skanky-Manslut is somewhat sated after getting on his knees, sucking up to, brown nosing and tea bagging Putin in Helsinki. Maybe Lavrov could have the FSB send some toys in her care package until he secures her release.

And… from the sounds of the press release…

…the ministry said.

This all came from a press release from the Russian side… they are trying to make it sound like they are giving the US State Department orders… After that sad performance in Helsinki and the press stories saying that they effectively vetoed Romney as the first Secretary of State… they really are trying to tell the world that Trump is their bitch… and it is working.

Sad!

[/quote]Do you think any of the Russia/NRA money went to help build a few minister mansions and pay for a few overseas ‘mission’ trips? I’m asking you, Franklin, in case you have any insights.

That change began in the mid-'70s as a reaction to gun-control legislation passed in the late '60s (which itself was partly a reaction to a number of assassinations that had shocked the nation).

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. I deeply resent the arrogant, patronizing, and disrespectful tone in speech and body language used by Putin, Lavrov and others towards the US. It’s insulting and entirely unacceptable, or at least should be. But the same people who claim to want to “make America great again” are just fine and dandy with it. According to them, we need to separate brown families seeking asylum at our border, but need to accept Russian interference in our elections to make ourselves great. Yeah…no.

If Trump green lights the release of this spy Maria Butina, that should be the last straw for this President and the Impeachment of Donald J. Trump.

Dear Minister Lavrov: until such time as our two countries ratify an extradition treaty, please to be fucking off. None of your business how our criminal justice system works. Or maybe ask Trump to issue a pardon.

A friend of a friend got busted for spying and got 20 years, and served all 20 of them.

The Russians seem honestly butt hurt by Butina’s arrest. Don’t recall them making such aggressive demands of Secretary of State Clinton when Anna Chapman and her spy ring got busted. The lady in red may know quite a lot that even the Russians don’t want to let out.

Or they’re creating a string of tenable complaints to use when and if Putin decides not to show for the “meeting” in Washington. These people are as far from our haphazard idiot in the White House in approach as is humanly possible. They plan for every eventuality.

OR, how about we trade Ms. Butina for Putin so we can put HIM on trial for screwing with our elections.

One factor I’ve read about that seems plausible is changing demographics of gun ownership. As the population became more suburban and less rural, a smaller proportion of the population owned them. It’s more inconvenient to shoot in the suburbs, and there’s no practical reason for it. So the NRA turned for funding to the gun manufacturers, and made its mission the sales of guns for any reason, including and especially creating hysteria that would drive gun ownership. You need guns to shoot bad guys! You need guns to stave off tyrannical black helicopters! You need guns because Obama will ban them! On and on and on! So you have a smaller proportion of the population buying insane numbers of guns because they’ve been propagandized to do so. F’rinstance the AR-15 is not an ideal home defense gun. But that’s how they were promoted by you know who to a dumb market because there’s more profit in them than in a pistol or a shotgun.
