Too bad the Syrian Military buggered off with all their hardware before the missles hit.
Eyewitness says Syrian military anticipated U.S. raid
Syrian military officials appeared to anticipate Thursday’s night raid on Syria’s Shayrat airbase, evacuating personnel and moving equipment ahead of the strike, according to an eyewitness to the strike.
So, “sound and fury signifying nothing” metaphor gets another go at it. Bang, flash, and bring me more cash.
"First of all, it was legal.
Which means it wasn’t, of course.
"First of all, it was legal. "
Legal in what sense? Legal under Syrian law? That would be the appropriate jurisdiction, but I doubt that Syrian law explicitly approves military attacks on their country by the United States.
Then there’s that whole matter of Congress needing to approve of military action beforehand, which the Republicans were insisting upon when President Obama was in office.
Rubio: “While I have long argued forcefully for engagement in empowering the Syrian people, I have never supported the use of U.S. military force in the conflict. And I still don’t. I remain unconvinced that the use of force proposed here will work.”
From Politico…
“This is not an easy thing, but it is a necessary thing because as long as Assad is in power, as long as instability is in Syria, you will have a radical jihadist group to fill that void.”
And once again Little Marco underwhelms us with his stupidity. Because, in many ways, Syria is Libya 2.0. If Assad leaves tomorrow or five years from now, doesn’t matter. There’s no real government in Syria to take over and since there are a few groups jockeying for power, look to have jihadist groups filling that void.
Of course!!! HRC said the exact same thing, BEFORE the strikes were even launched!!! And Obama spent years trying to convince you this was the right thing to do, but you said NO!
Sorry Rubes. You’re late to the game. You’re also irrelevant.
Our so-called President allegedly tipped off the Russians before the attack. I suspect phone lines run between Russia and Syria, as well.
45 is doing Putin’s dirty work. After Assad is gone, Syria will be annexed by Russia.
Dear “Senator” Rubio: No one gives a rat’s ass what you think.
I’m just waiting on Steve Daines to say something…
“Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said Friday that he supported President Donald Trump’s decision to order airstrikes against a Syrian airfield, and that the President would find broad international support for a U.S.-led regime change effort in the country.”
So I’m a little loss Senator do you support this decision to put us the American people in a different type of harm ?
““Cutting [research and development] funding from our budget is the same as cutting the engines off an airplane that’s too heavy for take-off,” says Jason Rao, director of international affairs at the American Society for Microbiology in Washington DC. The greatest threats to the United States, he says, are those presented by infectious diseases, climate change and energy production — none of which can be addressed effectively without scientific research.”

The airstrike may have been the right move (or not), it may have been legal (or not) and Assad should definitely go. But, little Marco, how exactly will that all happen? How will this airstrike cause Assad to fold up his tent and scram?
That is because we told the Russians and they told Assad that the attack was coming.
The is just bluster and chest-beating by little-hands-Trump.
Kushner told him to do it so he did.
They already have a sea base there FFS
It sure doesn’t take any stretch of the imagination to see that happening.
Another Player in close proximity to everything else that’s wrong in the Middle east
What could possibly go wrong once Syria becomes Russian territory?
from that press release (there’s a Youtube video link on there)
I have never supported the use of U.S. military force in the conflict. And I still don’t. I remain unconvinced that the use of force proposed here will work. The only thing that will prevent Assad from using chemical weapons in the future is for the Syrian people to remove him from power. The strike the administration wants us to approve I do not believe furthers that goal. And in fact, I believe U.S. military action of the type contemplated here might prove to be counterproductive.
Explains his Tillerson vote, no?
Bold talk from a high steppin’ Mod. Corduroy and suede rule!! Groovy!
Fucker needs to go back to the West Miami City council where he is better matched to his job skills
G-damn it, I forgot about those boots.
Now, go back and see what he said in 2013 about similar circumstances, remind yourself what a feckless weasel he is…
