I feel like this is a manufactured argument. Does anyone seriously dispute that places (in this case, mosques) that are propagating violence should be addressed by law enforcement? The problem is they only apply this standard selectively, i.e. not to themselves. They were mystified by why people had a problem with the Confederate flag and didn’t understand Dylann Roof’s motives outside of generic “racism.”

So does that mean you’re in favor of closing down certain churches and places of “worship”? What about that convention that some of your co-horts went to last week. Ya know, the one where the pastor said that gay people should be put to death? What about Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and Breitbart.com? What about the entire fucking Tea Party???

Rubio hasn’t thought that comment thru. Radicalism can come from anywhere. A college campus, church (how about Westboro Baptist for example), place of business, home. street corner. Anywhere. What Rubio is suggesting is restricting freedom of thought, speech and expression.

I spent 47 years teaching at a University medical school and I saw lots of wide ranging opinions. Do we close a college because some students/faculty are radical? What about the education or jobs there for the people who aren’t extremists? Does he give a damn about them? Apparently not.

It’s about time that someone closed down those mansions where the American Catholic Bishops and Big Box Christian Wrong evangelical leaders live and inspire Far Right conservatives. They are a breeding ground for domestic terrorists and pedophiles.
But I suppose Rubio didn’t realize he might be opening up a debate on that front by going after only Islam. Let’s have a fair and balanced, equal opportunity bash to other suspect religions, too, especially the ones we know have been inciting radicals like Pat Robertson from TV for decades now.

So if a minister in a Christian church preaches to the congregation that abortion providers are murderers and earthbound emissaries from God should go forth and mete out punishment that church should be closed?
