Oh Marco - you sound so serious. Must be wearing those Big Boy underpants today.
But if anyone knows how to drain the swamp, it’s someone from the oil and gas industry. They have more experience in changing the dynamics of wetlands than any other group.

Rubio , the only way you see the inside of the White House is on a tour like the rest of us
[/quote]Trump White House Tours - $100; MAGA Cap - $50 extra; If wearing MAGA Cap - $10 discount.
If his resolve last through December I’d be surprised.
If it lasts through confirmation hearings I’d be amazed.
If it lasts through a steadfast no vote, Satan will need skis and a nice warm jacket.
Rubio Has ‘Serious Concerns’ About Exxon CEO Tillerson’s Nomination
Spare us Rubio, you slimy little coward -
LET ME GO ON RECORD HERE AND NOW - WHEN PUSH COMES TO SHOVE - RUBIO WILL NOT EVEN SQUEAK LIKE A MOUSE - WILL NOT TAKE ANY ACTION - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING - ZERO - WILL COME OF RUBIO’S “SERIOUS CONCERNS”
Not much of an argument with that but the key question is how long Trump’s honeymoon lasts, and in this case “honeymoon” is probably more like the benefit of the doubt from all but his most rabid voters. He’s being outrageously corrupt, just rubbing everyone’s face in it. And his popularity is already historically low. I just think the Senate remains a power base.
He was caught on a hot mic bragging about his ability to commit sexual assault with impunity. His voice, no pretense to grab at asserting plausible deniability. You know, no different than standing over a bullet riddled body with a smoking gun in your hand. And got elected. Is there anything he CAN’T rub all our noses in and still not suffer consequences for it? Really? Sexual assault is not a disqualifier, why the hell would garden variety grifting be the straw that broke the camel’s back?
I’m not sure that’s a fair description of what he’s going about doing. It’s corruption on an astonishing, unprecedented, unheard-of scale in any western country. He’s burning down a huge part of the rationale people had for supporting him. And Access Hollywood damn near finished him. Priebus told him to drop out, I read the other day, and Pence damn near quit. It took Comey and Putin to drag him across the finish line by 80K votes. Look, you think the Senate won’t or can’t oppose him for the moment, I’m not so sure. Simple as that.
So is the end game here to prevent Trump for formally nominating Tillerson or will Rubio, McCain, Graham, et al actually vote ‘no’ if he is nominated? Assuming all Dems are ‘no’, still need 3 Republicans to cross over.
Trump is making A LOT of sketchy nominations and it will be interesting to see just how brave the GOP Senators are when it comes time to actually vote.
I can see Rubio tweeting on the eve of the vote, “Tillerson has won me over and I’m enxcited to have him as SoS”
Would it be fair to say that POS PEOTUS is helping the Russian oligarchs raise oil prices? Who better than the retiring CEO of Exxon Mobile - who already has extensive ties to Russia - to do that?
And, if oil prices do go up, Pepe will open up federal lands for private drilling because, hey, if he doesn’t have a hotel or golf course on that land, it has no value to him.
The rationale for voting for him was to make the fucking hippies* sad. Trump represents the middle finger to all the people tired of being mocked for their inability to speak fluently, perform complex tasks, get along with non-Caucasians or stay sober long enough to avoid a DUI or beating their spouse. Period.
*Hippies: Hippies, liberals, feminists, academia, environmentalists, blacks, Hispanics, labor, people that read non-fiction books, hybrid car drivers. Add a category to suit your taste.
It’s like reading about the elements way down at the far end of the manmade transuranic elements. McCain’s periodic outbreaks of integrity have a half-life of days. Rubio’s periodic outbreaks of courage have a half life of minutes.
But holy shit. Listened to a story about Tillerson’s contacts with Russia, and with whom he has them, on BBC’s The World, this morning. And to say that our ever-vigilent MSM’s coverage has been shallow, superficial and inadequate is a level of understatement worthy of an Englishman. This guy has been key to Russia’s ability to keep drilling and pumping despite the sanctions (which he vociferously opposed). His main point of contact is the kleptocratic thug Igor Sechin who runs, and loots,Rosneft. (Majority owned by Russia with minority interests doled out to suitably supportive oligarchs. A company that became the key player in Russian oil as a result of the confiscation and “auction” of Yukos’ assets after Putin imprisoned the oligarch who was its chief shareholder on tax evasion charges trumped up specifically for the purpose.
Sechin is one of the key figures on the sanctions list, the archetype of the Putinized sham democracy figure who is simultaneously a high government official, an unofficial close advisor, an oligarch, and a kleptocrat. He is one of Putin’s chief henchmen, a thoroughly nasty piece of work. And Tillerson is one of his “business” BFF’s.
If anyone had any doubt that Trump’s scrotum is in Putin’s claw-like hand, this nomination should end any doubt.
Yeah, that’s right. The guy who some some still unidentified patriots in the FBI’s New York criminal division intrigued into the Oval Office is owned by Putin. Whether through blackmail, through money (to the extent there’s a difference) or as the result of one of Trump’s Great Deals is irrelevant.
Marco will have further reason for concern. The guy who called trumpf a “barking carnival act” and a “cancer on conservatism”, Governor Goodhair Perry, has been picked to be Secretary of Energy, one of the three departments he wanted eliminated but couldn’t remember their names.
Wyden senior Democrat on Senate Finance Committee of Oregon is promising tough hearings and will demand all the millionaires and billionaires trump’s nominated submit their three most recent federal tax returns. That’s only a part of what Dems are going to do to highlight that rumpf himself has not submitted his federal tax returns. There will be more committees than Wyden’s doing the same on scrutinizing his nominees including Budget, Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. Don’t think for a moment the Dems are going to roll over and play dead despite the orange bluster.
