Bet? It’s a given.
Oh please. It’s Alabama. They love his rhetoric and false piety. He’s talking directly to them.
Roy’s his own biggest fan, if humility was food, he’d be anorexic.
So the Democrats are too incompetent and lacking in vision to put forth a candidate and a message effective enough to counter a corrupt, racist, right-wing extremist?
Oh, that’s right, we lost to Trump.
Learned helplessness. It is the Democratic way, I guess.
“Learned helplessness. It is the Democratic way, I guess.”
Too many aggressive ladder climbers in the leadership’s second and third tiers… too many party insiders who assume they earned a spot on the ballot when they can’t win the office.
Democrats may pose as The People’s Party, but too often, their own insiders take their personal ladder-rung toll at election time when less-entrenched members of their own party might have a much better shot at winning.
Think Ashley Judd and Mitch McConnell.
Until Democrats are willing to run people for office who don’t LOOK like Republicans, this confusion will abide.
When it comes to ladder-climbing insiders, the Democrats have more Little Fingers in their pie than Republicans do. Most of them look like Republicans, BTW.
Go figure.
No, the problem is that that is a list of virtues not pejoratives as far as many Alabama voters are concearned.
Edit: You might as well be complaing that Republicans are incompetent if they can’t beat a pro-LGBT pro-enviroment Medal of Honor winner in San Francisco.
You say this like it would be a NEGATIVE in Alabama.
You can’t conceive that their are places that are majority racist, sexist, homophobic, and at the drop of a hat will tell you how much they love the lord? That there are huge swaths of America–especially in the south–that will always, without fail vote for Republican? Policy doesn’t matter. Personal charisma doesn’t matter. They’ll willingly vote against their own self interest without a thought, just so long as there is an ® by their name. Whomever is running against the ® doesn’t matter. If Jesus had a (D) by his name, he wouldn’t get elected.
If you can’t conceive of that, please move to Alabama or Mississippi or any starkly Red state. Come back in a year, and see if you have a different opinion.
You are absolutely correct sir!
Just make the base love him more
He does nothing but whine and complain that the Democrats are not pure enough to get his support.
Moore’s stance against the amendment was one of many of his efforts over two decades that has built him a fiercely loyal following on the religious right.
I had no idea that racism was a pillar of being a devout Christian.
Speaking of robes…Moore has gone from wearing a black one to shamelessly donning a white one in public, I see. So that’s what the religious right looks like.
I do live in an hideously red state. I know people that would virtually eat a bullet before they would vote a Democrat. Why? One word. Abortion. They would never vote for a baby killing candidate. That’s it right there. Too many conversations over too many years have shown me that. Add in guns and gays and you have the sacred trifecta for hating the baby killing, gay loving, gun grabbing Democrat. Add in the Fox propaganda and it’s all over.
There are races that are just not winnable.
Oh and the purity wing of the Democratic party are just as bad as those I refer to above.
Absolutely, the people from Alabama and South Carolina like to compete on which is the most mean-spirited. The only rule is that you have to mention “god” and “jesus” frequently.
Let’s hope he has an opponent, in many red states, like mine the racist get to run unopposed.
Dude, Ted Bundy could win an election in Alabama. All you have to do is put an R behind his name.
All he needs is a nice pointy hat to complete the outfit.
Dog bites man. Yawn.
Democrats like Al Gore and Bill Clinton used to be able to win state-wide elections in states like Arkansas and Tennessee, respectively. Howard Dean had a 50 state strategy that was working until Obama fired him.
Now I see the Democratic leadership is back to just giving up without a fight. Learned helplessness.
As Democratic strategist James Carville said: “If you can’t run against Roy Moore, then what kind of party you got?”
It is about winning and losing. Here is your great record of success for the last 8 years:
Lost the White House, Senate, Congress, Supreme Court, and 35 Governorships and 67 State Legislatures.
What kind of party you got?
