Ahh! Maybe Ailes is hoping the Trump’et will have dropped out of the race by then.
Or, maybe Kelly will still be on vacation (har-har!) even by next January.
In other circles btw, that means she was fired! 
Which circles? She goes on vacation and everybody thinks she was put on forced leave by Fox. So kinda shoots the hell out of that theory. Why is it hard to understand she is taking a vacation and honestly,l I don’t know why that was even newsworthy

Trump v. Megyn II: Excepting the Naughty Ones, Blood Coming out of Unspecified Human Orifices to be Determined at a Future Date.
Here are two possible theories on this, in light of all the back/forth gossipy drama:

Fox is functioning from the assumption that Trump will have dropped out of the race by January.

There is a backroom deal in the works that if Trump hasn’t dropped out on his own, that the GOP leadership in conjunction with their media arm (Fox) will ensure that he is compensated to “go away”. Perhaps even with a handout from the Kochs via a third party.
I have no proof of theory #2, just a gut call based on all of the other spilled tea about the back/forth between Trump and Ailes. It’s no less plausible than other theories, and frankly at this point the only thing Trump responds to is money. So, use the Bircher wing of the GOP (Kochs) to fund his departure and clear the path for who GOP establishment see as the more viable/electable candidates in a general election.

They’re gonna let Megyn start the debate in a Black Lives Matter t-shirt and let her punch him.

The ultimate grift. Its truly become a high art form these days. Nothing would surprise me anymore. Electioneering here has turned into a bunch of freakshows, circus acts, and a wide range of carny games, where the outcome is a foregone conclusion.
Btw JJRothery, saw that ad for some politician for the Canadian Parliament last night on the Maddow show. That was some great stuff. If only American campaigns could be that creative. Unfortunately, we’re headed for the toilet with all that stuff.
