Discussion: Rosenstein On Impeachment Threat: The DOJ 'Is Not Going To Be Extorted'

The “Freedom Caucus”: Freedom from facts, freedom from dissent, freedom from science, freedom from the rule of law, freedom from all that conflicts with their views, or impinges on their freedom to exercise power over how we choose to live our lives.

I suppose that the christian conservatives and the Republican Party are saying that the biggest threats to their freedom and liberties are justice, police, law and order and the courts.

Translation: “Fuck You, Donald, and your whole slimy bunch of bottom-feeders. Go ahead and fire me if you want – we both know that’s gonna hurt you a lot more than it hurts me. Meanwhile, as you ponder that little conundrum, take your empty threats and shove 'em.”

Rule of law is hanging on by its fingernails. And it’s all on the back of this one guy who is basically a center-right-right douche who has taken press freedom out of the DoJ’s “things to be considered before you go for the dick move” manual and let himself be coopted into writing a memo used to justify Comey’s firing.

ETA: Well, and Mueller, of course.

Don’t you attack shs looks like that😏

I imagine the word “extorted”, which has a very specific legal definition, was used purposefully. I also imagine the Freedom Caucus folks behind the impeachment threat are too stupid to realize they just stepped in their own shit.

Well done, Rosenstein. Throw it back in their faces. Let the GOP war continue and I hope your side wins.

Goodness, is the Beltway press going to put up with Rosenstein being all self-righteous and confrontational about those nice Republicans in the House this way? I thought we were supposed to turn down the temperature so everyone could make nice and have fun: and in any case, I thought the constitution was about making Sarah Sanders feel good, and I don’t sense that any of this is going to make her feel good.

Methinks its time for a little investigation into the background and funding of the so-called Freedom Caucus.

I think the French Fry Caucus should draft impeachment articles. And then try to get them even to a committee vote, much less to the floor. And then try to find a planet, should those articles somehow pass, on which the senate would even schedule a trial, much less vote 2/3 to convict.

Because if they were spending all their time doing that instead of continuing to dismantle the federal government, we’d all be better off.

But he’s the one being threatened.

And in the meantime, t* is still getting his judges approved and his agency heads are destroying the gov, fr within. Every day, it feels less and less like that t* will be ousted…his lifetime court appointees will be his legacy, long after he/those of his ilk, are gone.

OT(ish), but like I predicted, the excuses and rationalizations for Trump not answering any of Mueller’s questions are now pouring in…

All questions are a “perjury trap.” If your answer is a lie under oath, you committed perjury. If you tell the truth, it’snot perjury. Simple. Easiest trap in the world to avoid.

Of course, you don’t have to be under oath for lying to the special prosecutor to constitute a crime. It’s its own crime…as is obstruction.

Just take a cursory look at the last two “presidents” they’ve given the nation.

Both lost the popular vote
Both lied repeatedly to the nation about important matters
Both are commuting/pardoning their loyal soldiers
Both are deeply unpopular with the public

The GOP has to lie, cheat and steal to win.

How long can they sustain this?

Look at Rosenstein gettin’ a little frisky out there…???

I have to admit, when I saw the clip from CSPAN I felt a little tinge of pride in my gov’t that I hadn’t felt since Obama was in office. He is so sick of the Nunes wing of the GOP.

But what I noticed was an outwardly expressed form of self confidence which he has been careful not to show until now. He has been very guarded and generally deferential while darting out here and there where needed. Here, he didn’t need to say what he said but seemed willing to let his guard down for a moment.

I suspected that he’s either getting fired or that he knows that he can’t be fired and that the big reveals from Mueller are getting revved up this month.

As long as the Republicans can convince voters there are people of which they need to be afraid. Blacks, browns, latinos, elites, etc etc etc

As long as gerrymandering is legal. Or at least not found illegal fast enough.
