If course they weren’t there under contract from the RNC, they were there out of love if country and from the goodness of their hearts…

Only eight years is not enough to send the RNC a clear message. I hope the judge extends it far beyond eight years.

A significant fine on the RNC and the Trump campaign might send a worthy message: Say $1 million for every voting place and every poll watcher at those voting places that violates the consent decree.

So if the RNC didn’t hire these observers, Stampede LLC says they didn’t do poll watching work in Nevada, then who in the hell trained these folks, how did they get paid, and who hired them? Please pass the popcorn.

Appropriate miss-spelling.

Federal court is known to impose serious sanctions. What you suggested would not be that unreasonable.

Filing false affidavits is bad form. The consulting firm could a) produce a complete accounting of the work that it supposedly has been doing for the RNC that has no relation to voter intimidation (let’s not call it “poll watching” if we don’t have to) and b) produce the contract with the people who are ostensibly funding their voter intimidation work. And those folks would have to prove in turn that they weren’t coordinating with the RNC.

In the long run, the RNC is being really stupid about this, because if the decree is lifted they will be caught on the next cycle, and the penalties that could be requested could be much stiffer.

So … who was Stampede working for? If not for the RNC, then who was paying them to put Republican poll watchers there?

Edited to Add: I see lastroth got there first. Should’ve read the thread first.

Who paid this “consulting” firm to send these poll watchers? Who owns this firm? What is their political agenda? Who’s writing the big checks? This ain’t pro bono work, people.

This story is like s big old piece of Swiss cheese – LOTS of holes…
