Discussion for article #227624

If he recovers from his tumor, I hope he’ll turn over a new maple leaf.

I guess he cracked.

Here’s hoping the official who handles the paperwork is Canada’s version of Kris Kobach.

My diet set me up!

Things used to go better with coke!

I’m going to the Chris Farley look-alike convention–no time for politics.

I’m leaving to spend LESS time with my family!

A tumor?? Wow.

I’ve been smirking along with the rest of you at this nutball, but if it’s some kind of cancer, that would be horrible, and nothing to make jokes about.

(His recent behavior would be consistent with a BRAIN tumor, but this problem is apparently in his abdomen.)

It’s now confirmed that Doug has registered as a candidate for Mayor, but Rob has also registered to run for City Council in the Etobicoke ward he used to represent. Rob is popular enough in that ward that they don’t need to count the vote, they can just tell by looking at the size of the ballot stacks.

I can’t see Doug even doing as well as his brother in the Mayor’s race. He’s like a dumber, gruffer, meaner, less-likeable Dick Cheney to Rob’s George Bush.

On the other hand, Doug gets to reset the campaign expenses at zero, meaning he can legally spend in 6 weeks what the other candidates have spent for months.

What’s missing from the story is that his brother is now running for mayor, and Rob Ford forced his nephew out in order to run for his brother’s council seat.

Yes, but the important question remains to be answered - Who will Mike Tyson now endorse in the race?

His nephew (who incidentally changed his name to Ford - his crack-addict mother’s maiden name - only this February, is now running for School Board. Based strictly on name recognition I suspect he & Rob will both win those seats.

I’m pretty sure that’s where his brain is.

Tumor? Cirosis more likely.

Well, Doug is better than nothing.

God bless you Mayor Ford, get well, and thank you for all you’ve done for us!!

Everybody’s scared of Doug. Doug uses…satire.

And can we get him to endorse Mitch McConnell and other Republican Senate candidates? His endorsement seems to have a negative effect.

Is it true the surgical team includes a proctologist?

Cirrhosis of the liver no, cancer yes. Drinking will do that.

This may be crude, but I’m calling horseshit on this whole deal. Rob Ford was done as done, I’m talking extra crispy fried chicken done.
This, Rob is sick, excuse, is a cry for sympathy and a big please-don’t remember me for what I am.
He is trying to go out on the best terms that he can and not as Mayor Crackhead Wackjob, which is what he is.

He isn’t dropping out, he is attempting to sneak out.

Well, here’s something that won’t dissuade from that line of thought. Back in July of this year, Nick Kouvalis tweeted the following:

Rob Ford will run & win in Ward 2 - Doug Ford will run & lose the Mayor’s race. You heard it here 1st.

Sounds like a wild guess. Except Kouvalis was Rob Ford’s campaign manager in 2010.

Don’t care for the guy or his style but I hope he recovers from the tumor. And his other demons.
