About as subtle as “State’s Rights.” Also, according to their own words it seems that the Republican’s own platform is endorsing Sharia Law. I sure wish they’d make up their minds … oh, sorry, you need to have one to make it up, don’t you?

The phrase “religious freedom” sounds so noble, sending up an image of the Pilgrims working their way to these shores to practice religion and eat turkey afterwards, when in fact the intent is about as vile as it gets.

And the GOP continues its War on Christianity by making sure that no one wants to be associated with Christianity but a bunch of bigots.

As if that should be a big surprise. An 80% christian nation has their right wing party push a law to protect christians against being discriminated against, in a country that clearly spells out in its Constitution…in the FIRST Amendment…that no religious discrimination is allowed?
The ulterior motives for that one were writ large from the beginning.

You know, the one that was going to make the party more open and appealing to young people, single women, LGBT people, Latinos, Asian-Americans, African-Americans, immigrants, college educated and other voters who have found your closed-minded policies off-putting? Isn’t that what your #rebranding report after 2012 promised?
I guess you decided that your political future lies with the politics of fear and exclusion instead.

But Rrrrrreince Priebus has gone full-on white-sheets-and-pointy-hood bigotry since he took over running the RNC.
He doesn’t even bother to cloak the racism, the religious intolerance, or the general nutbaggery any more.
Priebus may well be the most despicable and repulsive chairman the RNC has ever had.

The genesis for the RFRA was the Smith case. It does my head in trying to figure out all the places where state and federal laws bump up against an individuals religious rights.

In other news religious participation in the U.S. is declining among people who prefer to not get scammed.

Absolutely. The longer and more intense their push for extreme religious identification, the more the party devolves into outright cult territory. Scientologists, Moonies, Mormons and Rethugs.
